Dude move the TV to the corner next to the shelf, move your bed to the loft above, and buy a comfy sofa or chair and then get a coffee table. Store the consoles in a box under the coffee table. You can make much better use of space.

you also have to realize salaries in japan are also a lot lower.
@dragonofparadise
@dragonofparadise 4 жыл бұрын
I know right, Mr walker: the salaries are not THAT much lower in Japan as you say. You can easily make 50-100K USD in Tokyo if you have a professional level job. If you are basing the lower salaries exclusively on English teaching jobs then yes they are lower, but not when your looking at accounting, middle to upper management, and tech jobs (must speak Japanese). FYI the minimum wage in Japan is almost EXACTLY the same as the US minimum wage for reference. Lower wage workers are MUCH MUCH MUCH better off in Japan than in America. In America lower wage workers are treated like trash and must congregate in dangerous ghettos, while in Japan you just get tiny, but safe and nice accommodations
@MrWalker1000
@MrWalker1000 4 жыл бұрын
@@dragonofparadise it's very difficult to get a nice job in Tokyo as you say you need high level Japanese. But even for Japanese themselves salaries are low and cost of living is expensive. And what about outside of Tokyo where salaries are much lower than tokyo. The brightest people come to the usa because they can easily make more money and none of them I bet are thinking about going to Japan.

It's just more surprising comparing Japan to the UK, for the opposite reason. Granted it's the Tokyo area but $700 a month is a lot when I pay the equivalent of 650 for at least double the space if not triple.
@jordanjoestar76
@jordanjoestar76 3 жыл бұрын
@@MrWalker1000 FALSE, ignoramus. Minimum wage in my lively city (not countryside at all) is $9 yet it's 908 yen in Tokyo. For a nice apartment, like he stated, $1200-$1500 as well. $700 will put you in the ghetto with high crime rate, roaches, etc. and you won't be getting your trash collected. good luck with getting a washer included anywhere less than $900 in my town. It's no wonder there's so many homeless people in my city unless you visit the rich areas. The struggle is real. I'm a veteran and can't afford to live on my own right now.

I like watching a series on the Travel Channel with people moving to other countries and trying to find the ideal home to buy/rent. I always find it amusing how US citizens always find European sized kitchens small cause they are used to having a kitchen isle. I would like to see them check the "kitchen" (I am not even sure the kitchen in this video qualifies as one) in this video!

Hi, kidshoryuken, If you don't mind me suggesting something, I really think that you could utilize the space that you have by getting a loft bed that has space for a desk and chair under it. I guess that would also depend on how high your ceilings are. but there are several styles available. it's almost like creating another loft dedicated for sleeping while you still have floor space. Just a friendly suggestion.

Ok suggestions just wanted to throw them out there. Put the refrigerator and microwave in the area above the entrance or at least for the microwave use shelves that mount on the wall. Use a stepping stool if too high for the area above. That area above is just being under utilized and you need all the space you can get from what I can see. For the bed during the day put your mattress up above and stand your bed frame against the wall somewhere or even outside. With this new found space get a comfortable chair or a large bean bag. Hope this helps.

P.S I don't know if you've ever talked to Jimmy Happa on YT, but he turned me onto a fucking killer little shop in Akiba called "BEEP" they have a shit ton of classic Japanese computer stuff, and a lot of pc engine stuff too. I dig this neighborhood. I could live very comfortably there. Large crowds give me the heebys this place is way low key. I dig the apartment very utilitarian. good to know you got room for when I crash....but I think we'd both prefer to share your bed ;)

I'm digging the PC Engine and Neo Geo CD! Track yourself down a Neo Geo CDZ if you haven't already. . .I'm sure you can score one around there!

Here I am, in northern Ontario, Canada, with a 1,000 sqft house to myself and I'm complaining about running out of room. Everything sure is tight over there.

My God, that neighborhood is gorgeous! I actually love that apartment. If I were still a loner, I think I'd be really happy in an apartment that size. I'd maximize the fuck out of that space.

Yeah, the apartment I had when I briefly lived in Texas was absolutely massive compared to this one, and cost about $300 less a month. The downside was that it was Del Rio, Texas though.
