Glad I'm not the only one carrying a lot of fuel. I have a 96 F350 7.3L crewcab long bed Dually, I have a 39gal rear tank, 19 Gal front tank and a 105 gallon tank in the bed. 163 gallons. Thankfully AZ fuel prices aren't like California.

when i did the body lift on my 84 F350 i was able to replace my fuel tanks with 2 rectangle 100 gallon fuel tanks i got off an old 78 F700 going up hills you can feel the extra weight but i can go cost to cost without filling up which is nice because you never have to stop at a shady costco/walmart pump

2 suggestions, first, keep the top half full, much cheaper fill ups. Second fill your second tank at truck stops, they pump way faster.
@homeguy45 жыл бұрын
I've got a long range tank, 62 liters on my JKU. The way mine is hooked up, I have one filler neck, the Aux tank fills first then the main tank. I also have a pump to transfer the gas from the aux tank to the main tank. Makes the long trips easy for sure.

Ups makes more right turns to decrease delivery times mainly I believe. I think they set routes so that they minimize left turns because of lights. Red lights and waiting for traffic to thin out to make that left turn takes time. You can turn right on red and slide in to traffic easier and faster on rights.

@dylanrussell28886 жыл бұрын
it isn't true, my dad works for UPS and has the most seniority in the state of NH so he knows what he is talking about. The company prefers that the driver only makes right turns to cut the risk of a collision due to crossing lanes of oncoming traffic.

Nice Truck!!! I have been thinking about adding a tank to my truck, so i'm wondering do you need both the electric pump and a selector valve? Wouldn't the pump be enuf? I planned on getting the a long bed ram 3500 and buying the kit to pipe it in. 250 gallon aux tank no toolbox. Truck will be a rolling tanker down the road. Fill-ups will be hell, but oh well. Be traveling miles upon miles at 15-18mpg. Need to go to those truck stops. Those pumps are quick as 300 gallons, 150 per side, takes 15min.

Whats that extra 60 gallons do to the trucks gas milage. I read somewhere that cars that are good on gas have smaller tanks to help keep milage good. But if you can throw an 17 gallons somewhere and drive significantly farther would it be worth the extra weight for a car or a truck or would you spend more money to fill up a bigger or extra tank than you would just having one and driving the same distance filling up as you run out?

Cars with better gas milage usually have smaller tanks. Makes very little sense when you consider that the extra fuel you could have in a car probably weighs less than if you have a passenger in every seat and stuff in the trunk. Thought of getting an extra tank for my car until I read that they make tanks smaller to help gas milage and cant find any information on how much it hurts gas milage to have say 20 gallons instead of 14.

Can you pump that gas from the outer tank to other vehicles?.
@EddieLife35006 жыл бұрын
no u would need a different tank for that
@josephsamsor16986 жыл бұрын
Trevor Stringer maybe you could modify it. If you only want it as an emergency thing you could cut open a hole and you know, drill, tap, whatever a good fitting with some pipe and use an electric pump to move fuel out. Actually it already has a pump, so you could just make a valve along the pipe to tee off into another pipe that you can just put into another vehicle’s tank.
