Nice video, I think that your right on with the battery tenders. I have one too for the same reasons. Float charging with a smart charger is a good thing. Good quality battery’s are key too. We’ve been doing this on standby generators since they were, like, invented. I worked a month on and off rotation offshore for many years. My truck battery was always way low or dead when I got back, and would completely fail every year, no more problems after the smart charger. Keep up the great work my friend.

Yes lower amperage is better for battery charging/tending. It keeps the battery’s happy lol. And I don’t blame you for putting battery tenders on everything I do the same thing! Like you said battery’s these days are freakin expensive! And I live in VT & in my experience all it takes up here is one winter not maintaining your battery and it will most likely shit the bed. Almost guaranteed. And also in my experience brand doesn’t really make a big difference in this instance. So I really appreciate whoever invented the battery tender lol. These things have really saved me a lot of money👍🏼

I just did my MACs certificate. 1234yzf is flammable but just hold on the price is dropping as more vehicles are going to it. FCA was using it on 16 models. I’ve also seen Grainger sale an adapter for your gauges. New machine is 6500

I believe it’s the same company that makes those battery tenders, but they do have a model that has more leads for multiple batteries hooked to one unit. Mounts nice to the wall. I have one that can tend up to 4 batteries at once and comes with very long cables for each battery.

Yeah car batteries go to shit after like 1 month of not being charged. The older they get the worse. I always had a tender on my Trans AM also when I still had it as it was only driven in summer over here. You definitely want a smart tender that adjust the amperage otherwise you will cook the battery and that is no good either.

Hi I’m cody I am a body shop technition and I go to school for automotive mechanics and battery tenders on as you do is the best thing you can do for your battery I do the same thing on my bike and my dads car a 1994 mustang gt we used the exact same battery tenders and had multiple batteries last over 10 years and we only use the car occasionally in the summer. Also what your reading is correct batteries loose their life over time because the computers in the car are constantly using the smallest amount of battery voltage, milivolts here occasionally. But also when your battery gets too low most conventional and low maintenance batteries that you most likely have will emit more sulfuric acid gasses from inside the battery that is what they are filled with and batteries that are really low have a chance to ignite easier you have some nice cars man and I have a srt8 Charger too I just thought it was really cool seeing someone doing the same things as me I always keep my vehicles in perfect condition

Battery tenders will turn off when the batter is fully charged. It will turn back on when needed. Trickle chargers will charge continuously even if the battery is fully charged. The trickle charger is normally such low amps, that leaving it in doesn't hurt anything.

Two more quick questions Eddie. Does it matter which battery you hook up too, they say driver side is the primary battery. Also I heard that it is not good for diesel trucks to sit for long periods of times because the turbo will start to have problems what are ur thoughts?

If you want good batteries, put some gel batteries in and if you want to keep tenders on them, get the tenders for the gel batteries... With all our equipment, we've got over 50 gel batteries... Probably should have a few tenders too.... But we don't. But, we DON'T have battery issues!!! Most of our batteries are 8 to 12 years old now... Still going strong!! On your A/C systems... R12 was the best. There are still some older vehicles and equipment with R12... R134 is ok, but nothing like R12. Your new stuff is probably more like R12.... Maybe has a larger molecule too... R134s biggest issue is the molecule is so small, it can leak out the smallest hole, or pores in the tubing and hoses... FYI, if you want to convert from R12 to R134, it can work great, or you'll find that the hoses won't hold it in... We've got a '92 Freightliner converted, works pretty good.. Got a '93 Freightliner that can make ice cubes any day of the year, but the hoses won't hold the R134 molecules in for more than five days😥 I'll be looking into the new refrigerant... Maybe make a few more things work better..

Hey Eddie!! What’s up bro? Just wanted to say I’m loving your videos and would love to talk with you about my New 2018 GMC Denali 2500HD. I’m looking to relocate my DEF tank and wanted to know what you think? Would love to pick your brain about what I should do? If you could please help me I’d truly appreciate it!!! I’m in Tennessee and would love to know if you would or could do the work for me if I drive to Cali? Please let me know how I can get you my info so we could chat! Thanks! Todd

Todd, just bought a 2018 Sierra 2500HD myself. There is a universal DEF Tank relocation kit for the L5P on the market but I cant find anyone who has actually used it (referring to quality of kit). I spoke with the manager of the dealership about the relocation kit, he stated one you touch/move that DEF Tank, your warranty is voided. Whether this is true or not, check with your local dealership before messing with it. Best of luck!

Mario Murillo I actually found a guy that died it in NC and Cali. He owns his own business and has GMC dealerships that are letting him do them without it voiding your warranty. I’m thinking about using him as he is using the same OEM plug and play wiring with the same DEF tank relocated in the bed of the truck/tool box or he has a new one that fits were the spare tire is located. From what I’ve heard it doesn’t void your warranty if you are using the same DEF tank and OEM plug and play wiring.

Hopefully you use heavy doses of fuel treatment in that duramax. Otherwise you can grow algae in the fuel tank.
