I love your energy and you definitely need to be recognized more! You have given me more insight into architecture but if I had to ask you a question, it would be.. How do you have the determination to become a successful architect even when it is such a difficult career path to go down? I know there are many other options such as engineering which could be simpler in the end and easier to reach end goals in life so how did you make this choice? 💙
@NAE-DAY4 жыл бұрын
This question “how do you have the determination to become a successful architect” is really making me sit down and ponder my life right now. I didn’t expect such a high quality question to come into my comment section. I did think about engineering but when it came down to it I did not really want to have to deal with physics so much in my future career. I wanted to focus more on the creative side than the technical side of architecture. If I could be in art class for the rest of my life that’s what I would do. However rather than just art, I want art that is more specified with a set purpose and for me that’s architecture.as of right now I’m still trying to think of my end goal. Like yes I want to become an architect but what exactly I’m trying to do with it I am still figuring out. As of right now all I know is that I love buildings, I love designing, and love being part of a creative community, and despite the stress of the major whenever I finally make it to my bed to go to sleep, I’m happy, because I’m having fun. Part of the reason it is also fun is because of the environment I am in, and I am so thankful that it is not a competitive environment but rather an environment where I can learn from other people and we can grow together. But thank you so much for your support 🤗. I feel like I have not fully answered your question as yet but hopefully in the future I can give you a more direct answer.
@lei21644 жыл бұрын
NAEDAY I’m glad that you gave me this response.. Those kinds of environments are always the ones that are best. You as well make me ponder too especially about the future. I guess the question really differs and is difficult to get a specific answer from but I hope you find what you are looking for. It’s confusing and frustrating to not know what the future brings but knowing others still ponder what they want in life is somewhat comforting.. Thanks again.

I have a quick question, is taking physics in high school necessary to study architecture ?? I have to choose between ecology or physics but I’m afraid taking physics will lower my average.(I am also taking an architecture course my school offers) It will mean a lot if you can tell me if its necessary to study physics before college ❤️❤️❤️
@NAE-DAY4 жыл бұрын
Hey, taking physics in high school is not necessary because you will take physics in college. I took AP physics in highschool but never took the exam because I did not feel prepared for it. So I had to take physics in college. I think it’s probably best for you to maintain your average rather than risking it to take physics when you will have the opportunity to take it in college.

I just made them as part of my AP Art portfolio and then submitted them for my college application portfolio. The college application does not ask for anything specific so you do not have to make a specific piece or anything to apply. If you do art on your own outside of you highschool classes then you can submit any pieces you make. I have also seen people who have not taken art and just make several random pieces in order to apply to architecture

@NAE-DAY2 ай бұрын
Hi! I did Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus and AP Calculus AB (and passed with a 3 on the AP exam). Not sure how important this is to USC, since you take a math placement exam before you start your first year. If you don’t pass that exam then they just add a math class to your schedule. But for applying, you generally want to show that you’ve completed a high enough level of math and probably physics. I hope that helps!

@NAE-DAY4 жыл бұрын
Email. For me I knew I wanted to intern somewhere different than where I lived so I looked at all the cities that I had close family members in that could possibly give me residence and then I googled architecture firms in that area. Going on their websites I looked for a contact email or their staff to see if there was someone more specific I could contact. After emailing, I got a few responses, many no’s, sometimes no responses and then one inquiry. With the inquiry and also no email responses i then made phone calls and then finished the business with emails when I finally got a positive response from the inquiry and BAM 💥 internship. You just have to be persistent. Outline in emails the goals and purpose for the internships you want and kindly ask if they can take you on. (Bigger firms that have several branches all around the world tend to be nicer with taking interns cause they have money; I didn’t get paid for my internship but there was an option to). I interned at CannonDesign in their branch in Toronto for more of a reference.
