Thank you for sharing your story, Tony! My husband was an alcoholic and he passed away last year because of his alcoholism. Without getting into details, it was very difficult for me and my children living with an alcoholic, but that was the life we were all dealt with. With much guilt, I now feel much relieved that my husband is no longer with us.

I'm so sorry to hear of your suffering and that of your family. Unfortunately, some people are not able to recover. and continue hurting themselves and others until the bitter end. It sounds like that was his (and your) experience. Glad to know you are now experiencing some relief ❤️

Yo give it a shot...as bad as you feel, disturbing thoughts, physically ill, and all that other jazz...it gets worse. Give a %100 effort at the 12 steps and see what happens. You won't recognize yourself... I promise.

It's funny. A similar statement from someone helped me turn my life around. Someone told me that I am going to be 50 either way. Might as well be the best I can be at that age. It's the only way to think. Aways be improving. Even if you have a long way to go, just knowing that you are on the right track feels good.

I have been in Al anon for 17yrs. In the beginning I sometimes attended an open AA meeting. This always gave me great inspiration as did hearing your story. Say hello to Paris for me. Haven't been there since 1976..

I was not planning on watching the entire video, but I was really pulled in to your story. I lived and studied in France in the 80's (Montpellier, Paris and Rennes) and I loved being there and experiencing life. I'm very intrigued and impressed by your move to France. That really is quite brave! I read Le Monde and Midi Libre every morning and France has changed quite a bit from the 1980's.

This was incredibly meaningful to me - thank you so much for sharing. Sometimes, when we are trying to get help, we need to hear from someone that has a background similar to us. I own a business and feel so, so capable in about 98% of my life...just not w/ alcohol. So there is this internal talk of "Jeez - get it together like you do with everything else!" Your story has made me realize even "capable people" (whatever that is :) ) can and should ask for help when they need it

I'm so sorry to hear you are struggling and for the late response to your comment. Unfortunately, I am just now seeing it. I would suggest you look for a support group online. There are so many different support groups. There is Smart Recovery, LifeRing, Celebrate Recovery, Dharma Recovery, AA and others.

I have the addiction of eating slate pencil and soil how to get rid of it how to break habits when rewards are not same

Hi Jyoti - I do not have any experience with this type of addiction. That being said, I believe the approach to any other addiction would be the best course of action.
