88% African 46% Nigerian according to Ancestry. 86.8% African 45.4% Nigerian according to 23and me. Those were my results

Now that you got your results, I say go deeper into learning more about your history. I took my AncestryDNA test and from that I found my biological father through matching my aunt and I've learned some of my family history and it has changed my life. I posted my results which has been updated and I'm glad that I took the AncestryDNA test to this day and love seeing others especially Pre Civil War Black Population Descendants aka Black Americans(you're from Gary Indiana so I know you're Black American).

Hey Curtis that is great! Yes I am very interested in diving deeper as well. I’ve been playing around on the site and it’s matched me with quite a few people that I have never met or had any knowledge of. I’m still doing my digging. Did you purchase any additional services or programs through ancestry after your discovery?

@@1leighann_nicole884 I did the traits and it was on point except for having traits for straight hair which I myself don't. LOL! I'm also a US member which has allowed me to get records. For example, I found a Reconstruction voter/registration oath that my 3x great granddad took back in 1867. He was born a slave in Georgia and obviously he couldn't vote but after the Civil War during what was called the Reconstruction Era, Blacks especially Black Men were able to have more involvement in the US until Jim Crow Segregation happened. But it was cool to find that.

How long does the results take to come in? I know it says 6-8 weeks but did your results come sooner? Just bought my kit a day ago!!! 😀😀

So you only had 3% European? Are you from an African immigrant family or Geechee Gullah? You are not African-American?

Hello there, Overall , 10% European and yes I am African-American.

@@1leighann_nicole884 ok thanks. That’s one of the lowest European ancestries I’ve seen for black Americans, yet your skin is much brighter than it should be with that amount of European. DNA works funny ways. Your DNA probably took the genes from the European DNA for light skin and put them front and center in your phenotype. I saw one African American that was 30% European and his skin was much darker than yours but his face had more European influence. DNA is unpredictable.

@@IslenoGutierrez What's your point in emphasizing her skin tone? Bruh you sound really uneducated when you say things like the European(which was 10%) must be the reason why she has the skin tone she has. No it doesn't smh! Genetics especially someone of African decent will come in all colors. There are Africans not from America that have 100% African blood with the same shade of skin she has and sometimes lighter. Africa is a huge continent. We come in all shapes and sizes.
