Usually my cuttings that I make and may end up reaching five feetbuy late July and I have three or four heavy blooms I'm from Connecticut.....the trick is to give them great soil potting soil mix with topsoil, I fertilize three to four times a week, usually after a flush of flowers a lot of the leaves turn yellow and dropped that's normal...ALSO I TRY TO DISCOURAGE THOSE LITTLE SPROUTS AROUND THE SIDES CUZ THEN IT TAKES AWAY FROM THE TOP...just my little input I've only been growing them for about 15 years or so I have about eight different varieties and have actually, and have been able to get them to pod, they get pollinated at night by moths and bats!!!! please feel free to ask me any questions I have all my friends growing these that was well.... I have white different shades of pink different shades of yellow and orange... And because they crossbred I have ones that are a mixture of each... Even ones with variegated leaves

That’s awesome. I have a yellow Angel Trumpet. It’s over ten feet tall. I want to cut it back to six feet. Do I just cut the top off? It’s so beautiful, I’ve had it for three years. I feed it with 10-10-10 once a month and a bloom buster every two weeks. They love to eat and drink plenty of water. I’m looking for a red one, double bloom orange one and a pink one. I think this is probably God’s favorite plant 😀

@Wanda Singer Trim it however you like. As long as it's healthy it will start to regrow in a few days.

What kind of fertilizer do you use?

Tomato plantfood works a charm for Brugmansia. Need to be diluted, and given every 2 weeks.

I'm in central florida. What Tomato plantfood do you recommend? I got some that you're supposed to just put on top, but not dilute, so which do you use?

Thanks for sharing this....I also live in central Florida and have a tall angels trumpet growing in my garden. I received it as a small plant from a friend and planted it directly into the earth which is mostly sand. This plant gets direct sun all day. Now it is 5 feet tall, has 4 main shoots and they are bare up until the top foot which has green leaves. It looks ridiculous!!! But, I will not quit. Today, I noticed two “pods” which I assume are flower buds. It’s mid January right now, so I’m completely confused ..... but I will follow your advice and keep it well watered and fertilized and see what happens.

Miracle Gro = Monsanto. Hard pass on that. I use either Earth Juice or General Organics to feed mine.

Thank you for you video. We planted a five foot angel trumpet in March and has done very well. The only hiccup was that the leaves turned yellow and many dropped off. This was due to the heavy rainfall we had in May here in Cape Coral. It has rebounded nicely during the summer. The fragrance in the evenings mixed with our night jasmine is heavenly. I cut off a few offshoots today and planted them in soil.........we’ll see.

Brian Keaveney good to know! I actually still haven’t planted this angel trumpet yet but it is still doing well. It has grown a lot since this video. I’m planning to put him in the ground in the spring and hopefully it’ll do well!

So annoying... I watched it twice to get some sense of a time line. But all I get was that it was a 4" clipping. No date whatsoever. So .,, "you just planted it""... So if I just planted a 4" clipping did it grow that tall in 2 weeks? 2 months?

I just got my first angel trumpet plant and was wondering, how old is that clipping in the video?

Get your succulents out of the sun.

Succulents thrive on direct sunlight. They are dessert plants therefor they live on extreme hot weather conditions. Before you make an uneducated comment like that, do me a favor and learn about plants
