The light on your aquarium can be too bright and cause algae problems. One way to combat your aquarium light being too bright is to raise the light 8 to 12 inches above the aquarium. This spreads out the brightness and intensity. By the light being farther away from what’s inside the aquarium you won’t suffer from the brightness as much.
When a fish tank light is too bright it usually causes an algae outbreak. Having to clean algae in an aquarium is time consuming. If you can help your aquarium from producing lots of algae that would be best. A light that’s too intense will cause more work than what’s desired.
Another way to cure your aquarium light being too bright is to reduce the amount of time that the light is on during the day. You should also be using a timer on your aquarium light to ensure the tank is receiving the same amount of light every single day. This is a huge factor to the fish and plants. Plants very much thrive on having the same schedule of sunlight every single day.
