MY ARMS ARE TOO WEAK FOR THIS!! | Beavercraft Wood Carving Kit

So today I'm attempting to do some wood carving using a wood carving kit from Beavercraft...and honestly it was way harder than I thought it was going to be! The wooden spook on the box was ridiculously intricate, and the thought of having to carve this very thick bit of wood to resemble that spoon was unreal! Not to mention having to battle measurements, inches, templates and sharp tools! For some reason before going into this I thought wood carving; when you have the correct tools, would be super easy to do, and I think you actually need a lot of strength and patience, both things I lack! But let me know what your thoughts were on this Beavercraft wood carving kit, and whether you think you'd be strong enough to complete one of these Beavercraft wood carving kits!

What a nice surprise to have a midweek video! I was having a shit Valentine’s Day and you made it much better. I hope you and all the other Sexy Terry’s Chocolate Oranges have had a super Valentines. I did a quiz on Facebook that told me I’d spend the day in the arms of my soulmate….. he passed away in 2016 and so far his ashes are still ashes! No miracle reformation here!! ….. I think maybe my cat is now my soulmate as he’s been here with me all day!

Oh glad I could make it a little more cheerier! 😊 And sorry to hear that, soul mates come in all different kinds so it's lovely that you have your cat by your side 😊😊

I couldn’t agree more! My boy Halley (named for the comet) is definitely a soul mate to me. My late husband was really interested in quantum physics and apparently soulmates reunite from life to life because atoms once attracted to each other are always trying to be reunited. Who knew science could be so romantic!?❤❤❤

I predicted that outcome as soon as you opened the box 😂😂😂. I went on a spoon carving course and made some rough looking stirring spoons. We had longer knives that were very sharp. We used fresh cut wood as well, yours looked like it had dried and hardened. We got to the jelly arm stage and loads of us cut ourselves. I managed to drag the knife across the top of my other hand through tiredness. Blood everywhere 😂. If you find a fresh, soft piece of wood, much thinner than the kit one, I think you could carve a lovely little spoon in an hour or two. They are so nice to use. I have one for the kitchen and one that I attempted with a dry, hard piece of wood. I call that one ‘The monstrous shovel’ and threw it in the sandpit for my grandson 😂. Have another go one day.

You should get a block of balsa wood and carve with that. It's much, much softer. I loved the hillbilly background music😂, and when you said it looked like a knob, I was thinking the same thing😂. You stuck with it a lot longer than I would've been able to. But, like I said, balsa wood is super lightweight and soft. Perhaps that would be better to carve? Thank you for another awesome video❤

I was going to get one of those kits for my 8 year old grandson because he’s learning to whittle in Scouts, but forget it. That looks too dangerous! I watched the show Fool me Once. It was a pretty good Series. I don’t know if you like reality shows, but if you do try all the Traitors shows they are fun to watch and the games are really cool!

Yeah.... Its very much about whittle technique and sharpening the tools regularly, is part of my profession so I would be in 3x slow and dull hell if not for my sharpening stones. (also both things make it way safer, cause dull is danger)

@@AnthonyCrammen Definitely recommend this video for the technique - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jMtdnbmhuq-pXXk.htmlsi=6zNovfgkUq1J0A0o Also sharpening wise, umm, can't quickly remember a good video for it but getting a 1000 grit and 2000 grit should be good enough for hobby level stuff (is also really important to sharpen any dull bladed-tool which I imagine you might have a few) Sharpening wise though any general 2 minute guide should be good

So this the video where you get wood and develop a beaver fetish. A bit of a turn up for the books, but then again there comes a time in every young man's life when thoughts turn to Beavers and whittling just watch out for the splinters.

Omg please back away from the knife I could see fingers and blood everywhere . You need them for other videos. I am loving your videos to much to see you lose your fingers maybe you should try a craft with your feet get some practice in that way you will have backup if anything does happen to your fingers.
