We really love our backyard projector setup. It was easy to do and all we needed was 3 products. We used the Optoma GT760a projector, Elite Yard Master 2 Screen, and the ION Tailgater Active Bluetooth Speaker. I bought 2 of these, the 100" and 120" Yardmaster 2 screens. One of the best in the biz. I bought them because of this video. I bumped up to the Optoma GT1080 projector though. This is a good video, thanks for posting. BTW-buy 4 sandbags if using outside or even indoors. They have them on ebay for 11 a pair. Of course you have to go to Lowes or someplace to buy a bag of clean sand or pebbles. I put the pebbles into zip lock bags and inserted it into the canvas bags. Better safe than sorry. Plus its easier and better looking than the tie down ropes that come with the unit.

I have a HITACHI CP-X3011N and it’s a very nice projector I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good projector.

I found your video helpful. Projectors are always changing and I am using front-projection ViewSonic 7720 1080P, which I like very much, and I went with a much cheaper 84" x 84" pull-down screen ($55 on Amazon) that I mounted under the eaves of my house by the back patio. I am thinking about getting one of the Ion Tailgaters or a PA Speaker so that I don't have to rely on the patio speakers that I have hooked up to my home theater A/V receiver...since that occupies my home theater receiver and also requires that I temporarily run 50' HDMI from the projector to the receiver each time we do a backyard movie. What can you say about the sound of the Ion Tailgater?

Great review. You said these were the only three pieces of equipmentyou used and I don't know any details on the projector but how did you or what did you use as your movie source? (dvd player, phone, etc?) Maybe I missed this in the video? Also, Did this input into the speaker (for sound) and into the projector (for video)? I'd love to see a diagram of the whole setup as what I use right now for my outdoor movie system is a complicated mess of wires and speakers. I really love the way this is so simple. Thank you much! My movie source is my direct tv with the wireless bridge. I was also using my Apple TV to watch movies. The projector sits about 60 feet from my house and fortunately my wifi signal reaches. Hope that helps and thanks for the feedback and comment. :)

I would estimate about 30 inches to be fully fit on my screen. It is not very far at all. However, each rear projector has different specs so make sure to read what your projector requires to display on your desired screen size. Enjoy!

Does anyone just leave the screen outside? If so what happens to the screen after the weather elements hit? I am from Texas, so it gets hot and might even warp materials. Any thoughts or experiences?

congrats! BTW, do these projectors have blue tooth capability? be nice to have head phones for late night viewing.

the projector does not have bluetooth but even if it did the audio syncing would be an issue in my opinion. Listening to music via bluetooth is ok but listening to audio for a movie via a bluetooh device will have poor syncing.

i use a streaming stick for my movies which does have bluetooth. i bluetooth the sound to my boombox directly from my streaming stick.

So your projector is behind the screen but you're sitting across the pool with the audio next to you.....So are you saying that you ran 30 feet cable all the way around your pool to the projector to connect the audio to the projector?.....

Hey Ryan, I appreciate the support. I have the 120'' Screen. It is plenty big for what we use it for. Also, remember that the larger the screen the further away you many need to position the projector to fill up the entire screen.

There should be several selections on each page. I just clicked on them and found the following: Optoma projector $484 Screen 120"" $179 Tailgater (refurbed) $109 and new $189 Total would range betwen $768-848 The prices may have gone up on the tailgater becuae I think I only paid $99 for it new. I am not sure if I paid taxes when I bought it.

But you used the Elite Yard Master 2 rear projection screen right? The 120" rear is $279... correct?

I just pulled up my Amazon order. Here is what I paid on December 6, 2015. Optoma GT760A $489.99 Elite Screen REAR projection $209.99 I purchased the tailgater on November 30, 2015 Ion Audio iPA30ABK for $119.99 I bought this item during a "lightning deal" and I saved an additional 75 dollars so it brought my total to 744.97 You can email me at kday69 at gmail and I can share my phone number with you so we can talk.

@@luizbolferpilot4299 by support are you referring to a stand to hold it? I used a small outside table and used pavers to get the right height. Not a permanent solution but it got the job done. ;)

Hi, Is the screen waterproof? So it could handle some light showers?

I would say that it has a weather resistant feel to it because it is made out of plastic but I wouldn't leave it outside during a rainstorm. A light shower wouldn't bother it in my opinion.

The projector I have is a rear projector so as long as you get a quality rear projector you should be fine.

I wonder that is the screen has to be dual projector so that you can project from the rear? I checked on AMZN, 120" screen is $430 something not $200. If your DVD player as a 3.5mm output you can connect it to the input on the speaker. If not, maybe the newer version of this speaker has more input options. Check here, amzn.to/2HrcPjZ

@@shannonwilliams601 yes, depending on the video outputs of the DVD player. As long as you have HDMI or vga output you are good.
