I did so many things for my balcony makeover! I added privacy, faux grass, built my own outdoor kitchen and plant stand and so much more!

There should be a firewall behind it if it's even legal. I quickly found out that it was illegal to have an open flame of any type, even cigarettes on my first apartment balcony 😳. Not fun!

They're supposed to be a 12 or 15 ft setback for open flames and buildings. Just ask the local fire department.

Veryy pretty and cozy!! Buutttt a heads up, most rugs now are made of a material that's flammable and may quickly catch fire because of being close to the BBQ! Not sure if it is that kind but just wanted to put it out there to look at!

Be careful most appartments won't allow bbq pits outside even the small ones. My husband got one during black friday and had give to his mom everyone got a note saying it the next week.

This is lovely. I recommend keeping a fire extinguisher close by, or perhaps put a layer of quartz between the wood and the grill.

The only thing I would have to comment other than its beautiful. Is that I wouldn't have put that beautiful rug behind where the grill will be. Just because I'd be worried about grease splash.

Understandable concern. It’s just an electric grill though and it sits quite a bit away from the rug

I think I saw in another comment you said it was an electric grill so should be fine. What’s generally the ruling of bbq on a balcony? Because In the UK I know it’s a no go

"attract no bugs" the saddest thing i heard today. We have a huge problem with insects dying and especially in cities it is super important to help them through plants on your balcony. They will not bother you but will be extremely thankful. Plant real and helpful plants people. Please... Our world is unfortunately dying...

I hear you. If I had a house, I would totally be ok with bugs in the yard. And currently all around my building there are trees and bugs galore. But in my little balcony, with limited space, I just don’t want bugs there. It is what it is.
