In an era when even ten grand is starting to seem like the entry level for a serious luxury watch, it's important to highlight how much luxury watch five figures still buys in 2024. Tonight, Tim Mosso discusses the best $10,000 luxury watches to buy this summer.
Launched in 2016, the Omega Constellation Globemaster Annual Calendar is an advanced level complication at an Omega watch price. For $9,200, it's possible to own a stainless steel Swiss watch with Master Chronmeter certification, an annual calendar, and 100-meter water resistance. When combined with a versatile 41mm stainless steel case and tough tungsten carbide bezel
the Globemaster Annual Calendar is an excellent candidate to be a man's one and only watch.
Style is important for the best $10,000 watches. Omega's Constellation Globemaster revives the beloved "pie pan" dial design from the original 1950s Omega Constellation. Breitling's Premier B09 chronograph takes the same mid-century approach with dials in pistachio green and the the 2024 Breitling Premier B09 champagne dial. Breitling uses a manual wind movement to shrink the thickness of this versatile watch, and a twin-register dial with no date perfectly captures the character of 1950s vintage watches.
Zenith takes a more modern approach with its 2024 Defy Skyline Paris Edition. This limited series of 50 pieces celebrates the French capital and "city of lights," Paris. In the 2024 Summer Olympic year, the Paris games are commemorated by Zenith's Defy Skyline with green gradient dial; it's a limited edition of 50 pieces available exclusively through Zenith's factory boutiques in France and its French e-commerce site. For $9,800, the Defy Skyline Paris Edition features both a full steel bracelet and a rubber strap. A Zenith El Primero caliber 3620 provides 60 hours of automatic-winding power and its famous 36,000 vibrations per hour beat rate.

Enjoyable and well thought out show! It grabbed my attention from the very beginning with the Omega Globemaster that I recently bought after a three year search! Then you took me to the stratosphere with another one of my favorite brands-- Breitling! I was concerned when The 1916 Corp took Rolex away from you and The WatchBox. But I honestly can say they did us in the audience a huge favor! Tim is now free to comment on so many other brands not named Rolex! So Tim, I have a favor and a challenge that you are uniquely qualified to educate us viewers on. Gerald Genta has designed watches for many brands that are still popular today. There are 2 brands that carry his own name-- Charles Genta and Gerald Genta. So how do these 2 brands compare? Would you buy either, or only buy the Royal Oak or Nautilus? Would this topic deserve a Tim Mosso show off is own?

Better late than never.. finally caught up with this week's show and I must say this was knocked out of the park (as always is the case with Tim). Truth be told, I had no idea there was a perpetual calendar in the FC line up and that too under 10K. We're talking about Globemaster or Submariner $$$ here!! A good watch should not exceed 1 month of salary - like a Rolex in the 1960s, or an Omega in the 2000s. Get real - or be prepared for the market to crash way harder.

Why do you assume that? A Nautilus bought for several months' salary in 1998 would be worth multiples of its original price despite multiple "crashes" since then. Same with a steel Daytona. A Journe bought with a year's salary in 1999 is worth millions today. Sometimes, you have to pay to play. My "1 month salary" Omega Seamaster from 2002 is worth the same that I paid in unadjusted money and far less in inflated dollars. Best, Tim

A Rolex Daytona in the 1960s was about 1 month average salary. The average net salary today must be about 2.5 K. Try to buy a Rolex Daytona with that.
