Not surprised to see the Gucci belt, I rarely see one styled in a way that doesn’t look gaudy just because of the massive logo, I’m just not a fan of the logo mania.

Emma the reasoning for Hermès being so expensive is because it is one of the only luxury brands left in the world. Unlike other “luxury brands” the Hermès house does everything by hand and in house - not outsourcing anything to China (or similar countries). You get what you pay for when it comes to Hermès unlike Louis Vuitton, Gucci etc. which have almost taken on similar to high street manufacturing processes.

I literally adore how detailed all of your reviews are! You have taught me so much about luxury fashion, fashion materials, and how to detect quality! You talk about so many technicallities that are based around true fashion knowledge and then practicalities like how the leather makes a squeaking noise when you walk (that had me laughing so hard)! I hope I have your knowledge of fashion some day!

Brilliant choices, I have some of them and agree whole-heartedly. I also have the GG-Gucci-belt in black, and I regret it too. I was sucked in to the instagram-hype, and have now learned not invest to much in trends that are flashy and so recognizable. Every time I go to wear it, it just feels so 2-years ago. The gucci loafers on the other hand was worth every penny. Although they were very hyped too, they are more timeless and not flashy. I bought the Loewe puzzle in tan in November, I wanted to wait and see if it was just another trend, but I feel like it has aged well for such a popular bag, and so far it seems like the best purchase I ever made. I live in Denmark, and never see it anywhere else on the street, and most people don't know the bag or the brand. Apart from this, one of my worst investments has been an Acne Studios knit. It is 100% wool and itches so so much, and the shape sort of billows out, which doesn't suit me at all. I should have returned it then but I really liked the style on the hanger. I should have stuck with some of their softer and timeless knits, but went for a trend piece.

Where I live you can get shoes stretched to about half a size bigger by a shoemaker. In case you want to keep the boots, you could take them there. I did it with my Timberland Noreen. I too have a 40.5 and was stuck between two sizes.

I'd been watching your vlog for about a year I think when I noticed your Gucci loafers...I purchased a pair solely because you said they were the most comfortable pair of shoes your owned. I clicked on your link in the comments section but it routed me to an American site and I bought them. I got the Jordaan ..but I have to say they are WONDERFUL...they look great, they are really comfortable and break in fairly quick...and the other item I love is the Ray Ban Rounds....yes I purchased those too and it also routed me to an American site...I wonder if you get credit when it does that...anyway, I thank you for your expertise. So far, everything I've purchased from your recommendations has been spot on awesome.

I bought the Acne Jensen boots and they took over three months of crippling agony to break in, wearing them almost every day! But after all of that suffering they are now some of the comfiest shoes that I own, so the suffering (now a distant memory) was worth it but I would never do it again haha! xxx

I must agree with the Acne Jensen boots. I wanted so much to like them. Funnily enough I felt the shoes looked stupid on me, made me look shorter and chunkier than I was even when I was a Size 6 at the time. To add to that they really did pinch / bite like crazy. The leather is definitely stiffer than the suede; I'm not surprised the suede is stiff as well. Acne seems to have a knack for making nice looking items that occasionally don't really feel executed that well for practicality purposes.

You should cut out a thin piece of felt or suede and use double sided tape to stick inside of the toe cap on your Chanel sling backs. That should fix the friction squeaking. Also, I’m sure a cobbler could come up with a quick and easy solution!

So so SO proud of you and your marathon accomplishment! You kicked ass!!! I know you are taking a break from vlog like content but I would love to see some OOTD type vlogs from you. I get such inspiration from how you are making sustainable fashion work for you. As someone that doesn't have a designer everything budget I get such inspiration from how you can thoughtfully select one or two versatile designer purchases and work them into your daily wardrobe.

My best purchase is probably my LV Speedy. I’ve had it for two years and it still makes me so happy! My worst purchase was a pair of Louboutins that I bought for my wedding. Even after spending months trying to break them in, I have never been in more pain in my life! They are absolutely awful!

I love my LV Neverfull! It’s a great work bag. I’m a teacher & new mom, so I don’t get out too much these days. The tote adds a nice amount of glam to my every day!

I had a similar issue with a pair of mules as with your Chanel shoes. I bought a pair of nylon toe covers on Amazon and it fixed the sound problem! They also have little grippy dots on the bottom so the mules don't slide off!

If you’re looking for a comfortable and affordable dupe of the acne Jensen boots, look at the Marc fisher Yale bootie!! They’re so comfortable and look the exact same (they even have the metal bit in the front) they just don’t have the acne branding on the back. They also come in a variety of colors. Highly recommend!!! Super comfortable as well.

The rubber sole on the brixton is so mandatory! I got mine done and now they're a dream to wear. I have to get the inner sole redone since it shifted, probably due to sweat. I really want the Chanel sling-backs. I hope when I finally try them on, they don't make that walking noise.

Great vlog! Thank you! Regarding Acne boots.. I have a tip to make shoes bigger if you interested. Once I got on sales leather boots size down (normally I’m wearing 38, but these ones were 37). When I have worn them for the first time I thought I’m dying. 30 m and I was literally in tears, went back home to change. But boots were really nice so I’ve decided to give them a chance. What did I do (it seems to be funny but it works! I have been wearing that boots for a few years after): 1. Use hair dryer for ~10mins to make shoes softer. 2. When put warm socks on and wear shoes for some time at home. (Then may repeat). Or you can put shoes on with warm socks, put hair dryer on the floor and do some steps near dryer. I’m telling you. After all my booties fitted so good on me. 👌🏼

Love my Chanel sling back but definitely not for all day...However i have worn them many times in many different occasions. I find it completely elevates the outfit you are wearing. I m thinking of getting black ones but I think Gucci loafers first 😊.

I love, love, love my Loewe dupe! I only paid $32 US on Amazon for it and it’s made by Yoome. I fell for your Judith, but thought I would try out the dupe before investing in the real thing and I love it. Only drawback is that I can’t use the shoulder strap, so I keep it on the crook of my arm instead. The strap is not secure enough for me, otherwise the size and color is perfect!

Thanks for the heads-up on Acne sizing. For me, no half-sizes, no purchase. We have to insist on correctly sized, comfortable shoes by voting with our pocketbooks.

I am so terrified of making a bad luxury purchase that I’ve never bought anything.... There are days when I am convinced: “today is the day that I buy that Chanel”, and I go to the store, and then I walked by LV, and I think “maybe I get a better use of a sturdy LV”, and then the pretty Diors are standing there, just looking at me, and I am paralyzed, unable to decide and too afraid to spend so much and later regret it. I know, YOL, and that is why I always spend my money on vacations instead. (But maybe I need a Loewe bag, it would be appropriate since I am from Spain, rigth?...)

Really interesting to see your best and worst, surprised about the boots and shoes, that’s the worst thing when something looks so good but hurts like hell 😫 My worst was probably a designer bag in a light cream that just got ruined by denim transfer over the years. I always am really wary of bags now and stick to neutral ones but not too light that everything shows up on them. I actually thought you pulled off the glasses pretty well! I've never actually made any luxury purchases yet, but my worst purchase to this day is a pair of high-heeled sandals from Stradivarius which look gorgeous but they are super uncomfortable. My boyfriend bought me them a couple of years ago because I'd asked him and now they are still there, in my wardrobe, looking at me, so beautiful yet so stiff and painful. And now I never buy shoes in high-street stores anymore.

Hi Emma! Tip from the other side of your camera: never wait too long to have your fav shoes re-soled. if the bottoms are too worn, adhesive will not work optimately!!

I have both the pebbled leather & the suede Jensen boots and I love both of them, they r what I normally wear to go out in. The leather is definitely softer than the suede

Hey Em, about these black suede Acne, it is not possible to do to a shoes maker and he will make it bigger by about size??? In Poland always went, left shoes for a few days and they are comfortable/bigger? They have shoe hoof and special liquid. Cost in PL about 3 £🤔 maybe it’s worth to save the shoes 😊

With buys...I got myself an immaculate second hand Stella McCartney Falabella, and loved the style. Then I started using it, and found it super practical too. About £170 including p&p. Best bargain ever. I think I remember either a video or blog where you said you didn't get on with yours. Really shows how different things work for different people xx

I have the Gucci Jordaan and I didn't need to break them in. I wore them the following day after I bought them and, because there was a traffic jam due to road closure and I was running late in fetching the kids, I left my husband in the car and ran to the kids' school instead...in my new pair of Gucci loafers!!! Surprisingly, my feet didn't hurt one bit nor did I get any blisters. They fit like a glove and are my most comfortable pair of flats and I just love, love, love them to this day, two (or three?) years later! But like yours, I need to have them re-soled. I'm contemplating on buying another pair in a different colour (perhaps brown or white?) for a more casual or spring-y/summery look.

Hey! My best ones are for sure Marni Trunk bag in black, get always so many compliments on this one, Acne Studious leather jacket and Balenciaga triple S. Worst one in the Gucci belt, don't like it for the same reasons as you do. Wore it maybe like for 3-4 times max and I have it for ages already. BTW you did soooo good on the marathon! Well done! My biggest regret.. Vintage gucci bamboo handled backpack mini in red. Complete impulse buy and I still love it, but I don't think I'm a back pack style person. Plus my back is built like a swimmer so I feel like it would look funny. Always love your style Emma, and hope you've had a great run!

I have to agree on the Gucci loafers! I bought the collapsable back ones for a trip to Paris and wore them for the first time and walked 20000 steps with zero pain, they were so so comfortable. I have another pair of the harder back ones and I must admit, they have taken a bit more to wear in. I also have the Acne Jensen boots in both the suede and the leather and I think the suede was comfy from first wear, but I'm still in the process of wearing in the leather as they're much more stiff. Lovely video as always! xx

Hey, Emma. That flick on the e in Celine (my keyboard doesn’t have it) is called accent aigu in French, or acute accent in English. It changes the pronunciation of the e to the a sound in cake, make, take. The accent mark slanting the other way over the e is called accent grave, that e is pronounced like English e in red, bed, head, and so is the accent circonflex (circumflex in English), the one like the little triangle (called a caret). The unaccented e in French is weird to us Anglophones, sort of e/i/u together. So, Celine with the accent aigu is pronounced SAY-leen, (oh, saline works), hope that helps.❤️

My worst purchase was a Chloe Nile with a suede pattern. It was so beautiful but after a few wears, the handle left marks in the suede which were really noticeable. I was lucky to be able to return it for only a bit of a loss!

I know you kinda shouldn’t have to buttt you could try and wonderweb a little fabric into the toe area of the Chanel shoes that wouldn’t cause a squeak? Like cut up an old cotton T-shirt to use? Probs would have to use a curling wand to melt the wonderweb or buy some hemming glue? Xxx
