I absolutely loved How to Keep House While Drowning and recommend it often. I initially went into it thinking that it would be yet another decluttering book with the same tips and tricks, but I was pleasantly surprised. And The Snow Child was excellent, too. Glad they've been good ones for you, too.

Hi Kim, how to keep house while drowning sounds really important for people under the stress of mental illness. I wish it was available when I was Recovering from a mental breakdown after my fourth child was born. Everything was so difficult. Thank you for all the interesting book recommendations. Aloha friend.

Thank you for allowing me to use Mental health may to discard a book that I have been “reading” for a year. I’m (was) at 70% (it only had 160 pages) but it has been driving me mad. It was just sitting there in the back of my mind saying “read me, read me , just read the last 30% already ” . So for my insanity I’ve erased it from my Kindle and good reads.😂 I loved Will and Testament , unraveling how the disintegration of a family came to be. So good. You mentioned the novel getting repetitive…I actually found that that was really well and intentionally done, and I felt the frustration of the characters as they were going through groundhog Day .was symbolic of how the same trauma, questions, disbelief etc kept playing over and over in the characters lives as they tried to come to terms with what was happening. The author’s other book, “Is Mother Dead” is excellent too.

I rather enjoyed The Connellys of County Down. I completely agree that there are some things that are rather unrealistic but I think at the time I read it I wanted something that wrapped up a little neater even if it wasn't really realistic

Hi Kim, it's a reminder, I'm due for a reread of LOTR soon I think as my mammoth 2025, too much on my 2024 TBR. Go well.

Hi Kim! I read somewhere that having a vacation planned (with books! 😆) is good for mental health! Happy to report that’ll be visiting your home state beginning of August! Mainly the White Mountains and Hampton Beach and I’m very excited! 🎉 It’s going to be my first time and I didn’t realized that Mt Washington is less than a 6 hours drive from where I live. Any good recommendations for what not to miss in NH? 🤓

I am 40 mins from Hampton Beach!!! Let me know if you’d like a meetup! 😀 If you’re in the mountains try to see Flume Gotge or Diana’s baths. Beautiful. If you’re not an outdoors person then North Conway and the Cog Railway is fun. Hampton? Get ready to spend money on seafood and fried dough. Lots of summer fun and tons of people. The drive from Hampton through Rye on Rte 1 is filled with mansions and is on the edge of the ocean.
