How so? Both Jen (fiancée) and OP knew the family relationship was on thin ice and gave it their best shot for Charlotte's sake. Having seen similar situations, cutting the mom off right away would have cost OP his sisters.

How do you know that? For all we know, OP and his fiancee will be together for the rest of their lives. To be perfectly honest, I would never let anyone dictate to me who I could or could not marry. That includes family. It's important to consider the opinions of others, but ultimately, we're the captains of our own ships, and because we're entirely responsible for the actions we take, it makes very little sense to me to let others (especially people who I believe care about me and whom I care about myself) control our choices in life. It would be one thing if either Jenn or OP deliberately sought each other out to antagonize Mark, but if it was truly just a coincidence, then it's not exactly fair of Mark to get in the way of his brother's happiness. If Jenn had been abusive, unfaithful, or toxic in any way, he ought to have communicated that to Mark explicitly to help convince him the engagement was a bad idea. But if his only hang-up was the fact that he and Jenn dated for a couple of weeks, and he wasn't even interested in her, then I don't really believe he has a leg to stand on. But that's just my opinion. You're free to disagree all you like. ;)

You really think that op's family is intact? If it weren't for the sister convincing op to give his parents another chance, Almost every family member including op would have been ready to go nc from their parent. It's obvious from the parent's blatant favoritism towards mark and their toxic behavior towards op that the family is bound to break and it 100% will be the parent's fault regardless if op married mark's former fling or not

Maybe you forgot their blatant favoritism towards mark and abuse op got from them... unless if staying would give them boatloads of inheritance money from the parents or if staying with them would elevate op's career, no one in their right mind would want to stay in a family with parents that made it their life's mission to neglect and abuse their children.
