Eu adoro absolutamente TUDO nos coelhos. A forma que eles pulam, e quando dão aqueles saltos no ar quando estão alegres. Quando eles passam o queixo nas coisas pra deixar o cheirinho deles, quando eles ficam dando voltas nas pessoas que eles gostam, o narizinho que não para de se mover. O fato de eles serem herbívoros e limpinhos. Eu amo coelhos!

i used to have bunnies to and 2 of my chihuahua dogs used to just lay with them and groom them for hours at a time. bcuz my dogs grew up with cats they just saw them like another furry animal.

It's funny how differently dogs behave when in the house with other animals vs. coming across the same species outside. Our dogs are great with our cats, but they would shred a stray outside if they could get to one.

Depends on the beagle whether they've been trained to run rabbits or not. My beagle grew up along side my rabbits and she doesn't bother them. She kisses them.

We took him off the meds for a week and he had a seizure. Best advice I can give is keep a log of dates/times so you can let your vet know. First time he had one it freaked my wife out, I've owned Beagles before so I was used to the hyper-ventilating they are known for but when my wife yelled out during his first seizure I made it just in time to see him fall over on his side stiff as a board, all you can do is hold them and try to be soothing.

I have a beagle too :) he is also sweet- very gentle and calm (most of the time). I would love to eventually have a cat or bunny, too!

i have more than 10 rabbits, and one is free in the backyard. My golden retriever is there too, they just kinda ignore each other.. he never ever tried hurting them, instead he cleans up the droppings lol

@kibblesmom1 we taught our terrier the same thing. he wouldn't even look at the bunnies, just like this beagle. he knew he was not the boss of the buns, and the buns knew he was...just some yappy furry thing. sometimes the bunnies would charge the dog and he'd cower. hehe

This is a Disney movie waiting to happen. lol

I have a bunny and 4 toy poodles. The two of them just ignores him since he came around the one wants to play with him but the last one thinks that the poor bunny is her breakfast!! I think it depence from the dogs character and if they have hunting insticts.

It all comes down to your dog's attitude. My family worried about that when introducing our dog to my stepmother's cat, but there was little to worry about. Our dog knew the cat's smell from smelling it on us and was just excited to meet her. That which master accepts is recognized as part of the pack. They take their cues from you. Our dog is a big friendly lab though, gentle even by lab standards.

lil boy thats what i call my beagle.one years old has seizures.on meds now havent seen one in a few weeks knock on wood.

My beagle Jack came from a rabbit hunting family. I'm not even sure if he's ever seen a real rabbit, since I got him when he was a wee puppy. But you say the word 'rabbit' and he will stop dead in his tracks and sniff the air. It's crazy!! That rabbit wouldn't last one minute in my living room.

By any chance how did you first introduce the beagle to the rabbit? I want to see if my beagle can get along with my rabbit.

My beagle is calm around pet rabbits but once he gets a scent of a wild rabbit he does what hes bred to do.

That Rabbit wouldn't last 10 seconds in my house with my 3 Beagles. Wow.....must have grown up together I would imagine....

I had a large portable dog fence that I put around the bunny's area. I let my new cat smell the bunny at first and get used to watching their movements. It was rather funny. The cat looked very puzzled and could never figure out what the bunny was and why the bunny ate hay. After awhile I took the fence down and they just ignored each other.

I feel for ya. I just started dealing with our youngest having seizures. Weird thing is he is now 5yrs old, but didn't have his first seizure until about a year and a half ago, weird that he just now started getting them, luckily he hasn't had one in about 8 months. He's currently on Phenobarbital which we give him twice a day every 12hrs. We have to watch what he eats though as the meds make him even hungrier than normal, also makes him look bloated.

I mean it's cute description but it's really just a rabbit hopping around being a rabbit and a beagle that doesn't really have any interest or care for it let alone any sign of wanting to play with it.

That's funny, it's a beagle and he should in the real world be going after it, not fearful of it. Sweet dog though. It's nice that he isn't aggressive. ♥ I have two terriers who don't go after mine.

My beagle basset hound is one of the calmest dogs I know but when he sees a small animal like a squirrel he gets really stiff and just sits there. Probably because he's a beagle basset hound.

Definitely. They still poop everywhere, but they will use a litter box if trained. They're very easy to train and can even learn tricks! (if you teach them right, that is.) If you're looking into adopting a bunny, please make sure you know how to properly take care of it. :)

I work with rabbits at the local shelter, and I've done some research, although I'm no expert. Part of it is the dispositions of the bunny and the dog, but introducing them properly is key. Look at rabbit.org for information on bonding bunnies to dogs. You can usually at least get the two to ignore each other.

Oh beagles find things they don't necessarily do anything but bay once they find it (un- less it is food of course). My beagle ran away from a grasshopper once.

I was seriously convinced you were my beagle's previous owner until I read your description! Our dogs look nearly identical, same patches of colored fur and tail, stance and little gaze.. :-)

How did you do this? Bagels are normally nose to the ground ready for the chase.

Seeing beagle vids makes me sad. Our family beagle is pretty close to dying (she's been sick for a while) and seeing that sad beagle face is unbearable sometimes. I am going to be so heartbroken when she passes :(
