In this video I show you my weighted pull up transformation from beginner to competing against the best athletes. My journey wasn't smooth at all because I had to stop a lot of times because of lockdowns. But in the end I'm very proud how far I've come and there's still a lot of improvements to be made.
My goal for this year will be to do weighted pull ups with 80 kg.

Hey brother when you’re training did you aim for each rep for chin to be over the bar to count? Also can you drop what type of program you did? 5x5 for example

What’s up bro, great video and progression !!! Have a little question, how did you manage to progress and avoid stagnation ? Changing sets and reps every single cycle ? Changing RPE and alternating with high intensity and high volume ?
@samnijland
@samnijland 10 ай бұрын
Hey bro, thanks! Yes to avoid stagnation you have to constantly try to improve your workout routines and adjust it to your current level. Changing RPE, sets, reps & volume are good examples of thinks you can constantly improve.

Nice bro! One quik question do you usually keep your reps 5 reps or lower?
@samnijland
@samnijland Жыл бұрын
Yes, that’s what I usually do. Sometimes I’m focused on endurance so then I’ll do more than 5 reps. But I’m usually focused on strength.

fire 🔥 🔥 how many reps u do in one set of pullups?
@samnijland
@samnijland Жыл бұрын
I usually do 5 reps and sometimes 10 reps per set. For explosive power those are the best numbers. 🔥🔥

The 2 main thing are to build a very string base with the basics and to stay consistent with weighted training.

Nice work how's your diet how much calories a day and do you take any supplements like creatine or something
@samnijland
@samnijland Жыл бұрын
I don’t take any supplements. My diet is actually quite normal. The only thing I do is focusing on eating some more protein by eating more eggs, meat and fish. I also try to avoid soft drinks and heated seed oils as much as possible.

@@samnijland get on creatine and 80kg+ is yours bro :)
@devanshbansal395
@devanshbansal395 9 ай бұрын
@@karolkonieczny9130 Creatine makes you retain more water weight in your muscles, which makes you look bigger and makes your absolute strength lifts better, but lifts such as weighted pull would actually not improve as his weight would also probably increase due to the water weight, In my humble opinion. This is something that Daniel from FitnessFAQs also once discussed in a podcast.

@@samnijland so which good, (+25kg 5x5) or (+30kg 3x5) ?. And i have one more question, is it good to train hypertrophy pullups while training power that day? Like 10x3 regular pullup?
