My Cheap $125 Per Month Apartment in Pattaya, Thailand

Cheap Charlie Chronicles

Cheap Charlie Chronicles

Күн бұрын

I pay 4,100 per rent for my room in Pattaya, Thailand which comes out to about $125. Even though Pattaya is one of the more expensive places of Thailand, it can still be incredibly cheap.
I firmly believe that one can travel as a minimalist, Cheap Charlie style and have a great time. Paradise is a journey, not a destination. For those of us who love to travel, the joy of it is the new experiences, exploring new places, meeting new people, experiencing difference cultures. To do these things a lot of money is not required, in fact by spending a lot there is the real possibility that money can get in the way of these things. I keep my backpacking ultralight, bringing as few things as possible so I can also explore and move around as much as possible. I do a lot of walking on my travels.

I'm a wealthy individual but I think that would be a good set-up for me personally. I have anxiety, so tend to end up staying inside quite often, which leads to it getting worse. Living somewhere like that would force you to get out and about and thus, get rid of anxiety. Most people pay a minimum of $1,000/month for rent in the west (minimum, most much higher). On the same income, you could live there for ten years with one year's western rent. Think about it.

Very important question! I hate roaches more than any other insect on the planet and I wouldn't be surprised if Charlie sees them in that hot ass room on a daily basis. Some can live with them and as long as they have roach spray, no problem. Not me, that's why I pay extra for pest control....don't want them anywhere near my doorbell. if you don't pay rent, you can't stay with me!

Gianni Mauritz That price is for "short time" and you can get a nice young girl in her 20's if she's into that lifestyle. You can get a "regular girl" and not a bargirl just by being nice and polite. There are plenty of nice girls all over Thailand that don't work in the bars that are willing to be in a relationship with a foreigner.

Thais usually pay the same price as i do for tv and fridge but if i rent in overpriced tourist areas its usually included. I prefer to pay rent for the tv and fridge instead of bying them, would be hard to bring a fridge back and forth between Thailand and Europe on an airplane ..... :)
@ZeHydra
@ZeHydra 7 жыл бұрын
Not really stupidity, owning something like a fridge becomes a hassle for many people. Moving large stuff around when you're living only day by day without no knowledge of where you're going to be in 10 months is just plain inefficient. its just like asking people why they rent houses/cars in different countries when they can buy them for cheaper in the long term.

Yep Best not to get to attached to stuff in the west. Most of us fall into the trap and until you realize there are better options and can free yourself keep commenting from from your guilded cages. its too late for some. Me I am planning planning from my cage . Now where is the key Cheers for the vids Charlie

@ tez- It's a slow trap. It starts innocent enough with a house, car, and a lawn mower...then slides downhill from there. Next thing you know your up to your eyeballs in bikes, toys, tools, a second car, musical instruments, hunting gear, computers..bla..bla..bla, etc.

+TheSweetPerry ok so you leave Thailand for few days then come back and get another 90 day tourist visa? I inquired w Australian consulate about that and they said it is frowned upon that could maybe get away w it once, leaving country and coming right back but they prob catch on after that. Not sure if Thailand same

Dark Light The condos are individually owned and vary in standard. There are a number of agents on the third floor who rent out the condos. Last 2 visits we got same condo on the south side on level 17 for 1300 baht a night- that weekly rate. It is a great location. The location and view are worth paying for- just my opinion
