The reason it is a 96 that was assembled 10 of 96, is it was the final production year for the Fleetwood, and they assembled the cars until they used all the parts to assemble them. Manufacturers often use leftover previous year parts. I had a early year production 92 thunderbird, but it had the 91 front bumper.

So basically enough spare parts for one last batch. Smart. My parents bought a 1995 Chevy Lumina back in Sept. 1994 from Bill Heard Chevrolet-Cadillac in Columbus, GA. It was the new body style which was shared with the 1995 Monte Carlo. Their car was built Aug. 1994. However, my Dad told me that the saleman told him and my Mom that since it was the new body style and marked as 1995 model was because their car was built on the last run of the PRE-Production models. As I can remember, we experienced quite of few issues and glitches associated with a car being built during the PRE-Production run. Fitment issues, interior panels rattled and few electrical issues. Most of the issues was cover by GM's 3 year/ 36k mile warranty at the time.

Yes my mom had an 89 Thunderbird and it had a supercharged engine in it with no supercharger you can tell because of the side of the battery was on the side of a supercharger not the regular size 3.8 location for the battery. I always thought that was weird but they ran out of the engines and stuff and they just put a regular supercharged engine was new superchargers very strange what's a good car that 89 that's when they first came out with sleek look motor trend car of the Year in 89....

I’m an independent inspector for a major player, I’ve seen 3 of these type GMs in the last few months, 2 roadmasters an a brogham . They were comparable in equipment and miles . $12,000 to $17,000 was the internet selling price on them. So anything less than $10,000 on yours is a gift. I’m in east Texas btw. I started doin what you do 55 yrs ago. Don’t know nothing…..

My Neighbor had one of these cars and would pay a guy to drive him and his 2 friends to the horse track. The 3 old, retired guys sat in the back seat reading the racing program on the highway for the 50 miles trip. I would pass him on a regular basis going to the track and you would see the back dome lights on so they could see the program. Brings back memories of a simpler time in my life.

That car brings back so much nostalgia. I’m about the same age as you and my parents always wanted a car like this. We never had it and always got the closest Oldsmobile equivalent but with very few options. The sound of that antenna motor is the same as our Olds 98 sounded. All that old GM stuff has a special place in my memory😂. Good luck, I think $5,500 is a great deal.

Hey Randy. Love your content. Keep it coming. I have to agree with you because I feel the same way. I truly believe a car is not just metal and wheels. A car may not have a soul but they require love and care. The better you take care of them and treat them well, they will take care of us and never let us down or leave us stranded. I don’t know how many times my car has gotten me home only to get into them the next day and she is under the wear requiring some TLC. I believe she pushed herself to get me home safe and sound. Glad to know it is not only me.

My 1971 Fleetwood had features that are even impressive today. Automatic hi/lo headlights. Automatic climate control. Fiber optic turn signal and brake light indicators on the fenders so you would know if a bulb was burned out just by looking over the hood as you drove. Hell it even had automatic presets on the radio. You have to remember back then, the radio had a dial and a knob that you had to turn by hand to tune the station. But when you hit a preset, the knob would start turning automatically and the indicator would start moving up the scale to the preset station. That was some pretty bad ass shit in 1971. All four doors had ashtrays and cigarette lighters which again, in 1971 was pretty cool! The driving experience was pretty awesome. Super smooth, like Randy said, it’s basically like driving a couch floating on a cloud. if you have never experienced an old car like this, you really are missing out.

To someone born in 2000, that Caddy is probably already an old / classic car and if you get a nicely equipped sixties Caddy it has almost all the same comfort features. The thing is that the cars that were new when we were teens will always seem newish to us - 90s cars are now older than my first car (1959 Ford) yet it seemed old to me back then and 90s cars don't). So really a matter of perspective.

Your not nutz!... These are the Automobiles I miss, I grew up with these cars. My Dad worked for GM and drove a different "Test Car" home every night, they were testing oils and emissions. I would be out waiting for him to drive up every night to see what he drove home. He would bring home just about anything, from a Vega to a Cadillac. Seeing these cars take me back to those good times... I remember one of the stories he told about one of those Cadillac's with the 4100 aluminum V8, I guess they were driving it without any oil. it actually ran for a number of months like that...

I would say $6,000. It is a survivor from the the time when road yachts ruled the road. Each years car was bigger and more luxurious than the previous year. That's about as nice an example for the price as anyone is going to find. I agree with you about a vehicle for the power tour. The Cadillac may be just a little on the new side for the power tour but I'd be awfully tempted to be a trend setter myself and take it.

They built 1957 T-Birds up until December 31 1957. They shared the assembly line with 1958 T-Birds from Sept through Dec. SInce this was the last year for these Fleetwoods, they probably had enough orders to keep them on the assembly line into the fall. The Arlington plant was switching over from GM B and D bodied sedans to Yukons and Suburbans for the 1997 model year.

You are not alone Randy in thinking that. Obviously location will change the price of a car, but around me they're worth probably like $5,500 max unfortunately. I have seen them sit on fb marketplace for months at that price though because I think people are scared of them(Fuel MPG and the such). They get a bad wrap and like you said they do actually get decent MPG's for what they are.

A buddy of mine in the Army had one. This would have been 05-06ish. His parents I believe bought it new and gave it to him. His was like a maroon color with a tan vinyl top and interior. He kept it spotless and I always thought that was just the sharpest land yacht I’d ever seen. He eventually put like 20 or 22” spoked wheels on it and he liked it better like that despite how much shit we gave him for it. He was so proud of that ride that I wouldn’t be one bit surprised to learn that he still has it in a garage somewhere. I never really jumped on the 87-96 Brick nose F-Series craze like most did. I’m a big fan of the bullnose personally, but Mike’s truck is super sharp. I hope he learns to love it after it’s sorted out. I’d drive the wheels off that thing if it was mine.

Omg, you and I are soo much alike! I have been a Car Freak, as my late brother always called me, since I was a little kid and have been especially fond of older Caddy's, especially if they were convertibles...from the late 50's to the mid 70's! I remember an affluent Aunt of mine always drove a new Caddy convertible every 3 to 4 years, and in the summer of 1964, I was spending the summer with my Grandparents in Ohio and low and behold, she came to visit us in her new 1964 DeVille Convertible!!! I swear to God, to this day, I've never seen anything more beautiful than that car! It was a smokey mint green with a matching top and Leather interior and she had the top down!!! To say that I was awestruck is an understatement and I've never forgotten that day! I've been a gearhead ever since! I currently own a 2002 Dodge Intrepid that so many people have given me grief over for having bought it and still owning it But I LOVE that car! I bought it brand new and have owned it for over 20 years now and I still love it as much as I did then! After this length of time, she's no longer just a device of transportation, she's a member of my family! To think of her being owned by someone else just freaks me out!!! Sorry this has been so long, but just wanted you to know that you're not the only one who gives a vehicle a personality!!!!!

Randy please don't use WD40 for locks or radio antenna it works for a while but then it gets sticky. Use mineral oil for your car antenna and use powdered graphite for your locks of all kinds, cars and house locks. Also for the power tour, you were talking how much gas the old Chevelle got if you buy that Cadillac from maple motors you will be in the same boat, maybe even worse. If that old Caddy gets 10 mpg you will be doing good. I'm thinking Allante, it's collectable and would be comfortable for the long ride and you got great gas mileage on your trip back from Florida. Just a thought. 😀🚕🚗🚙🛻

With my OCD and paranoia of Rust after decades working in the trade, I would be under that with brush/spray on Rust converter on all of the scale rust areas, then a throw on a Mask and Goggles after it has dried and a wire Brush, clean it all back then spray it with a Sealer like the rubberised Stone Guard, back taping the floor area to protect the Exhaust etc from overspray. Simple and effective and looks super clean plus it adds another level of Sound proofing. The Tyres; I would look at seeking someone who does the Sidewall Grooving with a coloured Line (e,g; the Redline/ Blueline Tyres) and you can do them thin or wide on a standard Black Sidewall Tyre, maybe a 1 or 2 inch Groove in the Sidewall in White. The Roof, use a Vinyl Cleaner with a soft Nylon Brush and that should clean up good as new. I am sure then an older Guy would happily pay 5/6K for it as their Weekend Cruiser to the Golf Course or taking Wifey out to Lunch. Surely some Good Fella would love to have that in their Garage? 😁

Randy, before you sell it, I’d actually love it if you took the time to throw some 1.5” whites on it and send it to the Auto Spa, let them scrub the top, decent polish/wax and get the interior as fresh as possible. It deserves that I think. Honestly you could ask $7k for it and it’s a very fair price especially if you were to do that. Keeping in mind that it’s not perfect. More perfect examples are definitely going higher, it is because these are getting harder and harder to find. These cars would go 250k miles easily and many were run to that mark. Many others just trashed after years of neglect, and others crashed. 1996 is actually the year of least production, half of the 13k cars produced wound up being professional cars (limos/funeral cars). So just keep that in mind. It’s not hitting the top of its value today, but they will continue to appreciate in value and get rarer. I see many just falling apart from age, in need of restoration now. Hard to believe this body came out 30 years ago…. Time flies 😂

Love the Fleetwood. Great video. I bet it's a 96 because there was never a 97 so it just ran out a 96 because no change to a 97

I took the liberty of looking up Fitzgerald and got a hit for a network of three Cadillac dealers in Maryland, so perhaps that's where it came from originally given that it came from a two plate state, of which Maryland is.

That would be an awesome sleeper car dude, and i've been really impressed with these old Cadillacs on your channel. They are much nicer looking inside than they are on the outside.

In '85 I had a 1971Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham (Bro-Ham) lol with the 472 under the hood when I was 13 years old. It was my first car. It was also a different time, living in the DFW Texas area. Hell my second car was a 1960 Ford Fairlane with a three on the Tree Transmission but that's a different story. My "Bro-Ham" was white on black with the black limousine interior. I mean don't get me wrong, a 13 year old with a 71 Cadi, this car was ragged to shit but I could not care less. I drove that car from Fort Worth Texas to Harrington Ks and back with no license, like I said it was a different time. I had to sit on a "booty cushion" just to see over the dash because number one, I was small and number two, the seat was worn the hell out so you would sink down quite a bit not to mention the power seats did not work all that well. I learned how to drive in that car and I still have pictures of me sitting on the hood with a "The Cars" T-Shirt on. I will always miss that car and the memories and things I learned with that car!!! To this day I will always love a white on black Fleetwood Bro-Ham!!!!!!!

I think the same way about cars you definitely need to take care of them and it's true if you love something you're not gonna let it sit there and rot instead you would like it to be used and taken care of.

Good morning Randy on this beautiful freezing Monday and beautiful Oklahoma here in Lawton and I'm sure you're just as cold and nippy there and wherever you're staying Oklahoma City I guess? Caddy's looking good just need to get them white walls on there don't put blackwall's please I know you said it looks better with white walls your white wall man to you know a car that needs White Walls and definitely that Cadillac need some White Walls it does not look right with big old black walls look like truck tires on those Cadillacs because they're so big they need the whitewall to break up all that blackness.

I love the Cadillac my second car ever owned was a 71 Cadillac coupe Deville and she was beautiful. I wish I still had it I think between 55 and 5800 V a good price on the car. Keep up the great work.

Love this car for the nostalgia. I worked at GM R&D at the end of the 90s. People asking $15 and $18k for pristine examples of this car. I think with a good detail, it should be worth at least $10k. GVWR is the maximum weight rating, so it's the curb weight of the vehicle + weight of occupants and luggage. Curb weight of the car is 4,448 lbs

As nice as the fleetwood brougham is, I agree with you. Its kinda too "new" for the power tour. That 60's caddy though..perfect!

Use a Mr. Clean sponge and a good cleaner like Awesome and that vinyl top will clean up well! These Cadillacs are very torquey and drive and ride beautifully! Does need a set of whitewall tires though! What happened to the Cadillac you drove back from your other house? The white one with the dent in the front of the hood? I love that car! Try Hankook for the whitewall tires.

They had all those options back in the day too. They have less options on some cars today as they did in the past with Toyota and others models. The Cressida which they no longer make had more standard options than the Avalon that replaced it. I've had both.

I get it. Feel the same way. My car has been a frustrating experience but every time I sit on that drivers seat I am reminded how much I love the damn thing. I don't need to turn off traction control to do a burn out. It was a bit of a problem really until I learned the throttle. I was told that my car is worth $5000 and it is not nearly as nice and it's a Buick. The Dynaride is not as soft. You feel the road but not bumps and holes. Hard to describe. I would really like to own a Cadillac one day but for now I love my Roadmaster. Eventough I find a new problem every time I fix something.

You are definitely not the only I see cars just like you see them I even give them names. I definitely think $5,500 is a damn good price maybe even $5,700 since everything says it’s a 96 but the sticker on the door says 97 so maybe it’s worth a little more.
