My Choice 556 - James Last: Ave Maria (Bach-Gounod)

14 жыл бұрынThis is the Ave Maria by Bach-Gounod and is very nicely interpreted by James Last and his Orchestra. We're showing beautiful photos the Virgin Mary and flowers.
Written by the French Romantic composer Charles Gounod in 1859, his Ave Maria consists of a melody superimposed over the Prelude No. 1 in C major from Book I of the Well-Tempered Clavier, composed by J. S. Bach some 137 years earlier. (Gounod adds one bar so as to smooth out a rough change in harmony in the prelude.)

I would like to think that music as soothingly divine as this plays on the Other Side when I get there. A superb rendition that only James Last and his Orchestra could produce. Forever grateful to James Last and his musicians.

In USA, the month of May in the Catholic Church was always traditionally the we had a May crowning of the Virgin Mary...Is it the same in the Catholic Church in Malta? Very beautiful video and tribute...Fran
