I’ve never seen it in a US Marriott or Hilton (but I think the last time I was in a really nice one was 2015 so it may be more common now)

I really relate to the impulse to throw your feet/legs up in the air when excited by a comfy thing (the bed, the bath, etc), lol!! One of my family's favorite stories of me as a kid was when I was 3 or 4 and I met Santa and the very first thing I did was lay down on the floor (in my new dress!!) and kick up my feet declaring, "Santa!! Look at my new shoes!!" Also!! I have actually never seen a double flush toilet!! I do not even know what that means, lol!! James is giving the states too much credit. 😅

Deli is correct, James. I primarily see single flush styles. On occasion I’ll see one’s with two options but it’s pretty rare. Also, I love that the hotel thought you were a dog 😂

I actually preferred Melbourne over Sydney when I visited. It felt like Melbourne was rich in art and culture, which is way more me. I loved all the graffiti there and the different buildings. Sydney was still nice too, and it could have been the area I was in, but it didn’t stand out as much.

WTG, Bowsie, you really know how to show your humans a good time! I agree about the window being the prime spot. That Spa Day mirror looks so good IRL. Double flush toilets are quite practical, with each button using the correct amount of water needed to actually flush, less for #1. We need to start adopting methods like this in the US as a lot of the large lakes, rivers and reservoirs that supply water to many cities are way down. I have read that Australia and Melbourne in particular are really ahead of the game on this. They are doing tons more than us, but are still facing shortages. I try to compensate here at home by letting yellow "mellow" for a time or two, and of course flushing brown down. Sorry if that was TMI for folks. 😊

This is so cool! Went to look up the hotel policies though and apparently they have a weight limit for your dog(s)? Bowser definitely looks like he weighs more than 20kg and each of my dogs do as well 😓 “Pets Allowed Fees apply. Dogs only. Maximum 2 dogs with combined weight of 20kg. Maximum pet weight: 20kgs”

Melbourne is gorgeous! It reminds me of my home, Chicago....not huge but big. Chicago's buildings are a bit more smooshed together but your buildings out there are so beautiful! I'd say Sidney is a place to visit but Melbourne is a place to LIVE. I think I'd like Melbourne.

I've been struggling mentally, so hearing you be open about mental health has been SO nice and helpful to hear... AND content like this also helps. As someone who loves dogs (and as someone who misses his pup who passed away 5 years ago), seeing a pup get treated so nicely is always good soup for the soul. Quick edit to say that, as a New South Welshman, I can't claim Melbourne as a city that belongs to my state geographically, it belongs to my state in our hearts. Also- at least we have Mount Panorama, which is in my home town!
