Pure, unadulterated, heartfelt, lovely TRUTH has been presented here. My spirit tells me that this type of love and devotion warms GOD's heart. This action doesn't save one, but it certainly does endear one to GOD The Father because it is done out of pure love and humbleness before him. Truly BEAUTIFUL♥️✝️♥️

@@deesott5123 That is true. GOD sees the love that is in the heart of the one who carries on this tradition. It is not done to secure the salvation that GOD alone, through Jesus Christ can provide, but as a way of saying "Thank You" to him and of showing respect to him.

I have been wearing a head covering for 5 years. I believe It is a very private thing between a woman and The Spirit. I am the only one in my church. What I find interesting is the message from the Holy Spirit is almost the same for each of us who wear head coverings. But I do feel obedient to our Lord and Savior. I stand alone in covering my head. I don't need others to do it to make it right. 😃

I feel teary because I'm right where you were.. I left church today feeling super discouraged. All the ways you said you were feeling, I'm there right now. I am like the only one head covering at church. I'm pretty new. I met another young mom with kids the same age at a park , we attend the same church. I wasn't head covered.. we had been texting and connecting and then I saw her today at service (she usually goes to an earlier one) and I just felt so worried or concerned my head covering would be a turn off. Like I think I'm better or holier or judgmental. SAME WORRIES. The devil really doesn't come with new stuff eh? I was sitting here feeling discouraged and decided to go look at some head covering videos to encourage myself LOL. Hearing your transparency is so helpful because I know I'm not alone in these struggles and ultimately I do want to be obedient to Christ and I don't want others opinions to be an idol!

I'm the only woman I know aside from a Mennonite converted from Amish background who lives right next to me. I have left churches for some very legitimate reasons, and am just seeking true fellowship with like- minded Christians, no matter the denomination. But I have not noticed any outward nlstsntor subtle negative judgment from others. The only exception so far is one of my in- laws, who every time she sees me, she calls me Mama Moses, and goes into this explanation as to why she wears hats all the time now for practical reasons do that she doesn't have to bother fixing her hair. But then she comes up with excuses as to why it's not important for spiritual or modesty or headship reasons... whenever I point out what Scripture says. But she's not a believer. She's from the hippy generation, and she took all the feminist ideas and ran with them. So, my take on criticism and judgment from others... whether Christian or not,... is seeing us covered convicts their own hearts, and they're not ready to accept the conviction from God for whatever reason, and so rather than admitting their own rebellion against what God is convicting them on, they brush it off and try to place that shame on those who are trying to walk in obedience, by calling us legalistic or by accusing us of being self- righteous. But we know, and God knows, that we are not "holier than thou." I still struggle against that rebellious spirit that I've always contended with. But this one little act of obedience makes me even more aware of all the other areas of disobedience that I still need to work on. The difference now, is that, instead of running away from my convictions, this heightened awareness causes me to examine my character even more, repent and ask God to help me over come those areas of disobedience where I'm still weak.

Yes! Thank you for sharing this. I’m the only person I know that head covers. My husband was a little uncomfortable at first but has embraced it now. God led me to head covering when I asked how to release control. I have a lot of pride and control issues. Holy Spirit led me straight to 1 Corinthians 11, Which I had never read, when I broke down in tears praying for help. Well, it took about 2 months before I actually obeyed. Holy Spirit repeatedly kept bringing that scripture up and even with cooking, cleaning, and organizing research the articles and videos I would watch would end up being by women of a variety of religions who head cover. Once I finally obeyed I felt so free. It is a great symbolism that God is in charge and that I can relinquish control to my husband when needed. The prayer ritual I have created when I first cover in the morning also reminds me I’m here to serve God, not to serve my flesh. Also, a surprising aspect to head covering is the beauty of it. I love wrapping and feel more genuine when covered. I don’t cover all the time, like certain exercises, if I forget, or swimming. I also notice, if I stop that I am either angry at my husband or not making God my top priority.

Romans 14:1-9 This scripture reminds me of what you’re talking about each person should be fully convinced in their own mind and then live it convinced in their heart because that’s what the Lord loves is a fully convinced heart. ❤️❤️❤️ “As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions. One person believes he may eat anything, while the weak person eats only vegetables. Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him. Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand. One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. The one who observes the day, observes it in honor of the Lord. The one who eats, eats in honor of the Lord, since he gives thanks to God, while the one who abstains, abstains in honor of the Lord and gives thanks to God. For none of us lives to himself, and none of us dies to himself. If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's. For to this end Christ died and lived again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living.”

How do you interpret this verse which indicates that long hair is what God provides as a head covering? 1 Corinthians 11:15 “but if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For her hair is given to her for a covering.”
@carissahinex6550
@carissahinex6550 2 жыл бұрын
@@zarnoffa because if Paul meant long hair to be of the same veil he is commanding, you could substitute "long hair" for veil in 1 Cor. 11:6. Let's see if it works. "If she refuses to wear [long hair], she should cut off her hair. But since it is shameful for a woman to have her hair cut or her head shaved, she should wear [long hair]." Doesn't make sense. She should have her hair cut if her hair is cut? She should have her head shaved if her head is shaved? Secondly, the Greek tells us that Paul uses the word katakaluptó for covering in 1 Cor. 11:6, but he uses peribolaion in the scripture you quoted (1 Cor. 11:15). Paul was a master wordsmith an fluent in Greek, besides being under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. He did not mean long hair as the same thing he talked about as a veil in 1 Cor. 11:6.
@zarnoffa
@zarnoffa 2 жыл бұрын
@@carissahinex6550 Since Paul appeals to nature, does it mean Eve was naked... but wore a head scarf? Ha, obviously not! She already had a veil... her hair. Maybe Paul's switching back-and-forth between male and female confuses you... "Judge for yourselves: is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head unveiled? If a woman has long hair it is her glory. For her hair is given to her for a veil." "Every man who prays or prophesies with his head veiled dishonors his head. Does not nature itself teach you that if a man wears long hair it is a disgrace for him? For a man ought not to veil his head, since he is the image and glory of God." Paul is talking about women wearing long hair down as a veil while praying. Anything else, besides an alternate material veil, is a state of being unveiled. The rule for men is clear: short hair and no hats. The two Greek words you mention mean the same thing and the context is clear. Paul isn't playing with words. He's talking about veiling the head in both cases. Please look at your concordance.

That’s a great testimony. I have felt a lot of the same things. I started really getting a tugging in my heart that I should cover my head, but it took me a while to get it settled in my head. The longer I was indecisive, the more I kept thinking about it and watching videos about the subject. I went through the same thing about wearing skirts and dresses. I feel that God is putting it on my heart to cover my head as well as wearing skirts and dresses as being modest. I have also been told that I’m holier than thou, which really hurt because it was from someone I cared about, and I never thought that way. I’m just trying to walk in obedience as best I can and I’m still learning better ways to do that. God bless you and your testimony was very helpful

I am a convert from the occult/new age to Catholicism and had a similar conviction re veiling in prayer and then full time with just the same fears and experiences, though being now older I was interested to hear how you are looked at with more respect by men. This sort of modesty, might we say, is a gift to God and also to men to remind them of the dignity of women. May God continue to bless you 🙏

I finally gave in to the call this Lent. I feel so much safer and protected with my hair under cloth, and it helps me to be more connected to people around me, somehow. I try harder to be kind because I'm worried people will assume I'm judging them when I'm not. I just want to have my private space and not be worrying about what my hair is doing in the humidity. I love the constant pressure of the wrap on my head, like the holy Spirit is there. Men have been kind of weird about it sometimes, though. Brothers really need to focus on their own business.

Amen sister. Thank you so much for sharing this. I felt called to cover a few years ago and have found so much joy, peace and comfor in it. And I feel way less attacked by the enemy. My mind is way more calm and at peace since covering. I'm assuming it has to do with the section about our covered heads being a symbol of us being under authority to angles in 1 Cor 11:10? Covering has really helped me to humble myself, especially in a world of looks and outward appearances meaning so much, which sadly is even in the church. We are called to be set apart, different, unusual, spotless, and blamelesss, not look and act like the world around us. I was called out publicly for it in church from the pulpit which was so embarrassing, but I didn't let it get to me too much becuase people have been taught differently. And yes, when God called me to cover, I struggled with the feminismic attitude of not wanting to humble myself under my husband. I grew up in the church and had never known anyone to cover and never heard teaching on it, so I can see how people simply don't understand it. In my research I studied 1 Cor 11 for months and months. Especailly looking into the meanings in Greek. The word for covering in 1 Corthians 11:4, 5,6,7, 13, is the word, katakalýptō, from katá, "down, and kalýptō, "to cover"-cover down, to make appropriate (complete), i.e. to wear a veil. It is the same word used for the veil that separated the Holy of holies from the priests. It is clearly taking about a peice of fabric. But vrs 15 does NOT use the same word for covering. Vrs 15. "but if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For her hair is given to her for a covering." This is a different word for "cover"= "peribolaion," that which is thrown around or a mantel that can be thrown around (As in when a women tosses or throws her hair around, or a mantel that rest on the shoulders. So hair is considered long if it touches the shoulders) tossing the hair can be very alluring to men. This is where we get the saying, "Let your hair down." Up until only the last generation woman covered in Church. It was only during the sexual revolution that Chriatin women in North America stopped covering their heads. ALL of our grandmothers would have covered in church. This is why the Hutterites, Mennonites, Amish, orthodox churches, and messiniac Jews (Jews who beleive in Jesus), a lot of African congratations, etc still cover their hair. We are not supposed to be like the world. Thank you so much for sharing.

Thank you for this video. I have felt led by God to wear a head covering recently, and you have articulated a lot of things I've been praying about. I think I feel a little nervous, as I've never met another Christian woman who wears a head covering, and I don't want anyone at Church to think that I believe myself better than them. Also, we home educate our young children and I have already found it hard to make friends with the other mum's (none of who are Christians), so I don't know if it would make it even harder. But I think these may just be my fears, and over time I've been overwhelmed with how God blesses our obedience. We are all on our own personal walk with the Lord. I have been wearing a head covering while praying at home, but like you said...I pray throughout the day so it's a little awkward taking it on and off again. This video was very encouraging!

I am a bit nervous about how others will judge but I want to do it if it’s what The Lord wants of me. There is definitely a struggle on this issue between flesh and spirit. Nuns keep there head completely covered full time. The part where St Paul says ‘for the angels sake,’ makes me wonder if there is a deeper spiritual reason for the covering.

The Holy Spirit says that this verse applies for this situation. This what the Bible says: “One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind. Whoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord. Whoever eats meat does so to the Lord, for they give thanks to God; and whoever abstains does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God. For none of us lives for ourselves alone, and none of us dies for ourselves alone. If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living. You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat. It is written: “ ‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.’ ” So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭14:5-12‬ ‭NIV‬‬ You are honoring our Lord as Lord in your life and you are blessed because of it.

You spoke well from the heart. I am just beginning my journey to cover my head everyday all day. I’m 59 years old. I love Jesus and want to be obedient to HIM. I am nearly at my 8 th time reading through the Bible and for some reason I’m ready now to cover my head. 6 months ago I gave myself a pixie haircut. I am beginning to grow my hair out again as I want to honor my LORD by doing that. I have always admired nuns who wear the habit as a covering. I see it as very reverential to GOD. Now I get to cover as they do. To GOD be the glory.

Thank you for sharing about your head covering experience. I’m blessed and more encouraged after listening to your story. I started covering in 2013, and I was first in the church to do it. Later there were more ladies who also covered their head during our services, Bible studies and prayer meetings. It’s voluntary.

I was radically saved from death in 2016, and have been feasting on the scriptures daily since pretty much. I'm still back and forth with this. I don't think I could wear it all the time, because I already unintentionally convict other Christians by the mere fact I feast and meditate on the scriptures so much. They would definitely be put very off if I started publicly wearing a head covering...lol This extremely heartfelt video has prompted me to seek God on this topic though, so thank you, because if He convicts me to do so, I certainly will :)

My mom has considered for several years to become mennonite but didn't because she new I wasn't ready for it. But now that I'm in my 30's I have actually considered wearing a head covering. Other than mennonite churches we dont have any other churches around here that have people wearing head coverings so that has made it even harder to decide. I've even mentioned it to youth pastors and they would completely shut it down talking as if it's sexist. Anyways. I think I'll start just wearing one at home when I pray and see how that goes. Thank you for the encouragement. Now I need to find some cute head coverings. 😊

Great points and very well put. I just feel better covering. When I don't have my head covered when in the house or early in the morning after waking up I feel cold and naked almost. Not to say women who do not cover are naked, that's just how it makes me feel because the coverings give me warmth. I used to have very long hair and loved how I felt when praying and if my hair was down it would cover me and create like a tent around me. I felt more in-tune and close. I'm not good at explaining this, but I just really do feel better and literally covered by Yehovah when I cover my hair.

Thank you so much for posting this. I've recently felt drawn to start seeking out these kind of videos. The ones I have watched - including yours - have brought me such peace as if God's telling me that this is the right thing to do. I have been attracted to putting a head covering on my head for a long time. For the longest time I saw it was mostly just Muslim women wearing head coverings. I didn't want to come across as a Muslim woman. Seeing postings like this has really given me strength to say OK it's time to do this again. This time it's forever. I was covering my head last year. When it started getting warm, I stopped doing it. I think it was partially because of the looks I was getting. Hearing you talk about the getting the looks, feeling embarrassed and being different really helped me make the decision to focus more on pleasing God. Phooey with what others think and say. I am going to start covering my head from now on - except at work - because they won't allow it. I can live with that.

I see headcovering as a crown for daughters of the king of the universe, a physical symbol of spiritual protection, hence Numbers 5:18 when the headcovering was removed during the adultery test as a symbol of not being under her husband’s protection. Also Psalms 140:7 "O God the Lord, the strength of my salvation, You have covered my head in the day of battle. Shine on sister.

So, I was admiring your background outside as you were talking and noticed at 2:17 when you you said, "it just felt right" two white birds (doves I assumed) showed up in the left hand corner on that building. I don't believe in coincidence, luck or by chance. I believe that Elohim is in control of all things and if we are in tune with his spirit he give us confirmation however he chooses to send it to us. :) I have been convicted to start covering and stumbled across your video and I believe that was confirmation for me because in my spirit it does feel right! Thank you for your heart felt video and may the Lord bless you in aspects of your life!

I started wearing a wide headband most days, when i dress up I have a couple of nice scarves which I tie into a bun. When I wear the full scarf, i definitely get looks, but I also feel enveloped by God when I've done it. I'm not going to lie though, some days it's just way too hot for anything. I also thought I don't think God wants us to look silly to non believers either because it would uneccisarily bring negative assumptions, i know people say God is no respector of persons but i don't think humiliation is his thing either. So on days when I can't get it to sit on my head right, i just take it off. I've seen some Christian communities get really critical about how you should tie it and if hair is showing and what modesty is and I'm not convinced that is the spirit of the whole thing. Lets check our own motivations first, just like you said 😊

This is a very well explained Head Covering testimony. I am particularly impressed with the gentleness and humility shown and the desire not to enforce your views on others, while making your own position clear. I like the way you have looked at both sides of the issue before taking the correct (in my opinion), Biblical view. This is simply another reason why Calvary Cambridge is such a blessing to me personally.

I cover as well the only problem I have is some eczema on my scalp I don’t know if it was from there or from something else but I cover all the time except when I’m in the shower but I think I’m gonna start covering in the shower maybe so many times I want to pray and worship in the shower and one day I was worshiping after I got out of the shower and I didn’t have my head covered yet and The Lord said to me “cover your head when you worship.” It reaffirmed that God wanted me to cover my head but he also wanted me to make sure it was also covered when I wash it which by the way I’m a full-time cover anyway but when I’m in the shower I don’t I have a cover on, but I think I’m gonna start wearing a shower cap so I can worship in the shower. 😀 we do have to set aside our pride and be obedient even in the head covering. I’m so thankful. Great video. Blessings and Yeshua!!! 🤗

I'm still undecided for several reasons. But I've settled for wearing wide headbands and I quite like them. Sometimes I do kinda wish head coverings would come back in style. I always feel a little self conscious when I fully cover my hair, but it's super convenient if your hair is a mess and you need to leave the house real quick to go somewhere. Head coverings aren't just a religious thing, they are practical.

No one notices. I have wide headbands, hats, I have ones that are like headbands but are long and I can pleat them or pull them back and cover everything. Some thing scarves I tie around my head too. I played around alot with different types to find what worked well for me. Each day calls for it's own. I have phases of hats or phases of scarves and then back to headbands. Depends on where I'm going, what I'm wearing and the season. Lots of cute turbans and snoods too. No one except a few close relatives even ask. I'm the only one at my church too but I don't think anyone notices or cares. If anything they just think I'm plain or they think I'm a hippie 🤷

So many women and Christians are mad about this. They think of this as legalism. I do not. I feel if it says it in the Bible and Paul said to do it we should. It will please God. I feel beings born again and follower of Christ we should do what the Bible says. Not just a few verses but all. Things changed in the 60s and some women stopped wearing a head covering at church and during prayer. It's about mortality, modesty,and principles. I think the most important thing is to pray and ask the Lord what he want you to do. He speaks to you in a small still voice. 🙏🙏💖✝️
