Also, I love Open Source. I have a modded PS1 PAL. I tried connecting it with HD retrovision cables and the OSSC to my 55' 4K Samsung and the text, menus etc are a little blurry. I would say even the game itself isn't the best quality even though I don't remember it very well. What I am doing wrong? I tried with the original setup and also some pre-made profiles. @@shurikencookies The reason you shouldn't blow into them is because the moisture from your breath can instigate/accelerate rust which will of course ruin the connectors. The best way to do it is to use a cotton swab (Q-Tip) and isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol. The alcohol will clean up dust, resin, and to some extent rust but won't promote more rust. It also dries fairly quick (to be on the safe side I'd suggest waiting for it to dry). Note: Obviously enough if there isn't enough copper left on the contact (due to rust) then it wont matter how much you clean it.
@shurikencookies
@shurikencookies 3 жыл бұрын
@@grn1 tbh I do use isopropyl if I need to clean my electronics so it's good advice, though I'd be worried in that case the cotton swap might leave fibres best to get a good lint free micro fibre or chamois 👍 (Though I'd say only collectors and enthusiasts would do that lol)

Anthony I love when you talk about retro stuff, I appreciate so much these things, you are awesome and a very funny person, I would like to see more videos about retro gaming. On the other hand when you are on the start of the video, I know it is gonna be a good one. Maybe a good idea could be making a video about the definitive guide to emulate retro games, having in account your opinion about the delay and input lag problems on emulation software.

Could you imagine hdmi being obsolete in like 25 years and having to buy an expensive adapter to be able to use your retro ps4?
@Sammie1053
@Sammie1053 3 жыл бұрын
In 25 years I assume people will use the same exasperated tone Anthony did to say "240p" to say "without modification, this hardware only outputs a 2D image" as they demo an open source upscaler to render "retro" console titles in eyesight-grade VR.
@amuzulo
@amuzulo 3 жыл бұрын
This PS4 Pro only outputs in 4K?! So, if you want this to look clean with the 3D signal wirelessly transmitted to your brain, we need this open source 3D video adapter. It also includes a retro power outlet back before power was wireless. Now as for the controller, this adapter will capture that old-fashioned Bluetooth signal, so we can play on an original controller. I know, playing video games with your hands makes me feel like a child again!
@amuzulo
@amuzulo 3 жыл бұрын
As for getting your PSVR games to run, we recommend connecting to a PSVR2 as its video quality was much higher and backwards-compatible with PSVR. This adapter will upscale and wirelessly transmit a clean 3D signal to your brain, so you can enjoy these retro VR games without the dreaded screendoor effect. There's also a switch here to turn off the upscaling if you want the authentic experience, but I don't know anyone who actually plays this way.
