Today has been the first time of seeing your videos and I just enjoy your company! Thank you so much for getting me interesting in cooking, my husband passed away in 2016 and he loved to cook n baked. So he spoiled me now I get frozen dinners and that’s what I eat, but after seeing you I’d like to give it a try. He would sure be proud of me at see me cook for myself.

Rachel I absolutely am a “Rachel cooks with Love” fan! I just went shopping for a Chuck roast for your pot roast recipe and my husband went with me I said tell the butcher I want a 3 1/2 pound Chuck roast with the marbeling. He said, why don’t you get the English roast, it looks just as good! I said, no, I have to get exactly what Rachel uses, the Chuck roast! LOL You really should make a cook book, but I love how you explain everything “step by step” “just like this”! 😊 You are so enjoyable to watch and I have learned a lot. So glad I found you! You give such good detail that I am not afraid to try anything you have made although I have never had such a variety of Mexican food. Love your aprons. I prefer watching you to a cookbook but it would be nice to have the recipes handy. Thank you for being you and love how you call your husband “my Ron”! He should do an occasional “cameo appearance”. Heard his voice once when you were making tamales. Can’t say enough! Love you!

I hope to have a cook book one day and I am working on it along with many other things like my aprons etc...my Ron is shy and I hope I can convince him to appear one day. My grandmother was ashamed that her mother was a servant, so she refused to learn to cook. My mother was the same. Somehow, I loved to cook and have taught myself how to bake and make homemade meals the old-fashioned way… but I made many mistakes along the way and had to learn the hard way. Watching you put together your incredible looking meals is heartwarming to me. I’m learning a lot too! If you have stories about who taught you, I’d love to know them. 💌

There is a reason why our grandmothers and moms made sure to dry their dishes and put them away. Drying not only getsthe moisture off(obviously) but it also polishes the dishes amd makes them shiney and pretty. Also,if you have food that sticks to the bottom of pans...don't scrape or use hard abrasives....heat the pan and add some water to "deglaze". It makes for easier and better clean up.

My Gma made me several aprons from the time I was 7 or 8 years old....they were necessary to help her in the kitchen...so she said. She just loved seeing the joy on my face I think. My Grandma was just like your Grandma. She too wore an apron 365days a year. I have seen her in rainstorms out in the field picking up turkey eggs that were floating off their nests, she would bring the corners up and fill with the eggs bring them in and put them in a towel in a box behind the wood stove to hatch even duck eggs. She used those aprons, made out of flour sacks, for everything. My sister and I are in our mid-70's now and we wear aprons all the time too. Our Grandma cooked everything in cast-iron. My sister and I split them between us and still use them to this day. Grandma passed in 1959. Still miss her so much. Her name was Rachel too. I really enjoy watching your videos. You are genuinely A real sweetheart 💓 💖

Thank you Rachel for showing us your collection, and it's quiet a collection! My favorite casserole dish is the beautiful light yellow with the rooster. My kitchen is done up with roosters and hens. My mother's kitchen was roosters and hens too. My grandmother raised her own chickens. I can remember as a small child seeing her chase down a hen, ring it's neck and she had a big aluminum tub with hot water she would put it in and pluck all the feathers out. Then she would take a lit match and singe all the pin feathers before she would cut it up and put in the freezer. A real pioneer woman! She would do around 10 hens at a time. Me...naw, I go to Kroger! Lol! It's a challenge to me to even pick one out! Hey, I'm a 'honest child's but boy could she run! Lol! Her and grandad had a dairy farm, raised their own garden. What a hard, wonderful life! Anyway, sorry Rachel, I kinda got carried away with my memories. You are so sweet to show us your collection, with such pride, like your old friends. God bless you! I think wearing an apron, reminds me of another time, an era, where everything had a reason. Things were made from scratch, things were built to last, things were made to be repaired, not replaced, before the instant, fast paced disposable preservative chemical life we all know now. It harkens back, to a time when life was not just more simple, but much better, and healthier. Thank you for being a sparkling gem, and showing us the all but forgotten ways, of a way better time and way of living, the way we should return to!!

Rachel, this video is so inspirational. Your pots and pans, roasters, bakeware, are impressively maintained...and informative. The level of organization for a home cook is phenomenal. My grandmother always wore aprons, and sewed them herself by hand. She has been deceased for over 50 years now, but remembrances of her in her kitchen, cooking in her iron skillets and pots are so vivid. She baked everything from scratch, and vegetables freshly grown. Cakes, pies, cobblers, biscuits, dinner rolls were always freshly baked. Like you, she had an arsenal of aprons. Thank you for your cohesive and organized presentation. Always look forward to your cooking and information-packed shows. ❤

Rachel, I’d love for you to do a video about how you care for your cast iron. Have watched others but wow have never seen such clean & well-seasoned pots/pans as yours. My mom had those copper bottomed pans til she had a non-fatal stroke & a few of my sibs got rid of many of her best cookware/bakeware including all those she’d had for years. I had pneumonia so couldn’t oversee what they were doing & it was a sad disaster. You can barely make a meal w/the dishes, spices/herbs, etc they left her with which has been very discouraging for her bc she fully recovered.🥲 It’s so funny that you did this video. I didn’t ask for you to do it in any comments but wanted you to so thank you so much. Great to know the Barkeeper’s Friend works so well. Have seen other cooks use it on their cookware too. I didn't know about the bar keeper secret either. It was great to learn about it. Now no more hot deep scrubbing. I always cure my cast iron to dry them almost always in my oven, I sometimes do use the stove top if my oven is busy and full. But they're always washed and dried immediately. I've had one rust before from allowing it to soak and it was a nightmare. I vowed then never again. I'm definitely trying the bar keep secret.

You are SO well dressed on your videos; and showing us the lovely “old favorite workhorse” would not diminish our knowledge of your very well-groomed self♥️. It would simply show us your loving loyalty to the one TRUE “always-there-for-you”, precious apron. I tend to go for the “underdog”, in humans and inanimate objects that serve us thru thick and thin. Tell dear hubby that it is OK to acknowledge the less gorgeous…it will end up being THE STAR. Remember David, the shepherd boy, whose father didn’t even get mentioned… He turned out to be a KING. I will ALWAYS hold up the more humble-looking, human, animal, inanimate object, to give praise for what they have done🙏🏻🤍🕊. Jus’sayin’ 💖💖💖
