This man me cry man. Here i am feeling down cause I've been trying to draw USAIN BOLT and failing. No matter how much I shade I just can't crack getting the details like u and all the great artist I see, this has motivated me to keep trying. I hate drawing realistically cause it is so hard but just cause I hate it doesn't mean I should avoid it as I won't get better. U thought me this quote and it is very powerful. Congratulations your art now is truly legendary.

Hey Leo, I understand how you are feeling, I remember crying myself to sleep because I practiced drawing hairs for hours but it still looked like garbage. It never gets worse, it only gets better. As long as you keep going you'll improve, even if it's at least 1% every single day, small yes, but in one year that's 365%. 💪💪💪💪💪💪

We are in the same shoes bro but I'm glad I've resumed again I want to improve n add it as a side job .... I want to improve on pencil realistic art n I don't sleep anymore...I'm a photographer n cinematographer I've been improving all through my photography career just like him in spec of 3 to 4 years it a long way but I swear ill never give up on art from pencil to vfx n broadcasting.... I don't need school to be the best I just need motivation

Imagine how good you’ll be in another 7 years 😃 If you’re looking for video ideas i think a tutorial on shading specifically from very dark to light in a small space would be really informative. I always have trouble getting over the hurdle in my mind of creating a harsh shadow line without unintentionally dragging the gradation from dark to light further and further until the difference in contrast isn’t as it should be. I hope that’s understandable.

I think I understand what you mean. So you are saying that you want to blend the shadows to the highlight but you don't want it to be sort of 'overblended' where the dark tones stretch further and further into the highlight. Is this right?

@@JasonLegendaryArt - exactly right. That “sharp” line between shadow and highlight can be daunting for less skilled people like me and it can end up as you said, overblended. It then takes away from the contrast and makes the drawing look 2d again but yeah you nailed it, i haven’t seen any other channel mention it ever and i assume it’s a fairly common issue so it would be a cool video to learn from :)

When I was nine, I used to draw really well for my age. But I had been distracted for about like 5 years and it really effected my drawing skills, couldn't draw (shade) Like I used to. I regret this and hope to improve in the future. I have started drawing again from 2022 even though I am not very active. Thank you for encouraging us fellow artist, man.

I started drawing 8 years ago and I am finally to the point where I can say I am pretty good now. It can be so defeating to work so hard for many years and see other people "get it" it within a year, 2 years, 5 years. But here I am still making the same mistakes. I am thankful for people like you that help me grow in my skills. I am going at my own pace but I will get there, even if it takes me another 8 years. Thanks for your tutorials and expertise. If I paint flowers and butterflies or animals, I am able to do them super realistic...but with people it's chapter alone.🤦🏻‍♀️😅❤️🙌🏻 I tried Edward Scissorshands with this of your video. I see there big improvement. But not enough. I tried it later with my own style and it wasn't so precise, but looking more like this person. I don't know why...but my drawings are becaming often 3D and I guess that maybe I have different perception of space and objects and I do mistakes shift it on paper in portraits.
