I like your tools and totes it looks like you have everything you need. I really like the fact that you’re not overloaded. It took me a long time to organize and minimize my tool bags 💼 and carry just what I needed. Man you also have some name brand high quality tools, even before you mentioned how long you’ve been in the field I could tell you knew your stuff. Great video as always KINGSPORT take care.

Nice set of tools, always intrigues me about what other electricians carry for their work, especially in other countries. Cheers for the video.

Trust me that Klein $29 level is worth it. Empire $10 cheap copy ones the magnets suck. That Klein level magnet is so strong. Well worth it.

Your speaking truth regarding those Measuring Tapes my friend. I will loose one in my own kitchen, I swear. I have not been using wire-strippers for many years to build the kind of "muscle memory" you have, but I really love my Milwaukee Combination Electricians 6-in-1 Wire Strippers Pliers. They are not priced to high now, but they use to be 50 bucks. I found them in a Pawn Shop for 10-USD! It really reminds me of the “Vamplier’s” feel when it comes to holding needle noses. I have a Knipex “Pliers Wrench” and a “Knipex Cobra Water Pump Plier” set that I have been using for a few years now. Pricey… But essential to my workflow. Everything else in my back is the lesser price tier stuff.

I agree I like standalone screwdrivers as well, Just a suggestion looks like some 3 in one oil would do some good on those cable cutters, cleaning off that rust, throw a little in the joint on your linesman pliers too, They will open and close like brand new! I enjoy the content, just subscribed.👍

I've owned tapes until they fallen apart. I have not once lost a tape, because I use it so frequently. If you're going through 4 tapes a year then maybe you should invest in an expensive tape you might remember, not to leave in a hole. I lose 11 in 1s and those damn yellow handled kleins. never the blue ones, just the yellow. LOL the end of the dewalt hacksaw is the same as on the Klein hacksaw, greenlees too I believe,

Hey I'm in Kingsport also and currently looking for a job as a helper or apprenticeship. I've tested and interviewed with the IBEW but due to covid they're only doing a small class of 5 people I'm on the list at #12 so I didn't make the cut. Do you know of anyone else that would give me a chance? I just graduated from Northeast State.

Be forewarned that if you Join the IBEW that you will NEVER work locally in the Tri-Cities. Even if after you leave the IBEW, the local companies WILL NOT hire you with IBEW on your resume. . . . . . . . . . Steve Huff is hiring (yes, that's a plumbing company, but it will get you foot in the door). Acorn Electric is always hiring but their pay is low. Massey Electric is always hiring too (but be warned Massey always operates understaffed and works their guys 7 days a week, sometimes their guys go 2 and 3 months without a day off -which is reason why they can't keep anyone (hence the reason they're always hiring) BST is one of the better companies, (I've worked for them twice) but they do all of their hiring through a Temp Job Agency. Unfortunately, you'll work for little more than Minimum wage for 90 days during your time with the temp job agency. After 90 days BST decides if they want to hire you. If they hire you, then you'll get a raise. (as long as you show up for work everyday, and don't be late, don't leave early, and do what you're told during those 90 days, they will hire you Kingsport Armature & Electric is another good company, but they will take on a big job and hire several people at once to do that job and as soon as that job is done, they will lay them off K&S Communications is always hiring too, they contract for Charter Cable and don't work regular hours. Really bizarre hours. Like you'll do a cable install at 9am and then your next cable install appointment is at 3pm and you don't get paid for your down time (hence the reason they're always hiring) 4 really good companies in the Tri-Cities to work for Tennessee Electric Johnson Controls TeleOptics Fleenor Security

@@kingsporttoolreview8703 amazing that in the trade world, the bar for being a good employee is showing up to work, and working your set hours. It never ceases to amaze me that so many people find this incredibly hard to do. You can go really far in the trades it seems if you just simply CARE about what you’re doing.

Why electricians in the USA use screwdrivers without insulation? A lot of them use these yellow Klein Tools (I know there are good) ones that do not have insulation. In Europe, most of the electricians use screwdrivers with insulation as they are Wiha, Wera, Knipex...?
@johnd9357

Some do. We mostly just denergize and work on things that way. But insulated tools are becoming more and more common.

Great video man but how come you dont cary you meter with you daily?
@kingsporttoolreview8703
@kingsporttoolreview8703 4 жыл бұрын
I do, but at the same time, I am an Industrial/Commercial electrician, sometimes I can go for weeks on end and do nothing except running conduit, and other times I can spend several days doing nothing but wiring terminal blocks or PLC Cabinets. I also do a lot of DataComm installations (RG45 phone wire and Cat5/Cat6 computer wire, and coax cable) .... So, in other words I really don't need a multimeter everyday. . . . . the main thing I use a multimeter for is 3 phase electric motor hook ups (a multimeter will let me know if the leads are hooked up to spin the motor in the right direction), I also use multimeter if there is a short and I need to isolate where the short is.

Another too, this is really just my main tools, we park our work vans at the shop at the end of our shift (unless we're working out of town), and I really didn't want my bossman to see me getting all of my person tools out of the van at the End of my shift or he'll think I am doing side work (MOONLIGHTING) or even worse, he might think I was not coming back (Quitting)- LOL
