As a licensed emergency medical technician (EMT) carrying the life-saving tools I am trained to use is a no-brainer. Check out every part of my emergency medical services (EMS) bag and learn more about the tools EMTs use on a regular basis.
On a different note, after passing EMT school it's my opinion that everyone should take at least a basic CPR/first aid class. These classes are put on all over the U.S. (and world) and the content is truly life-saving. The American Red Cross, American Heart Association, and local fire/ems departments tend to put on these basic, one-day classes at least once a month.
