This was an ambitious coloring book full of intricate details and beautiful pictures by @KerbyRosanes. And this time, I’m creating a galaxy space scene with Derwent Inktense & Prismacolor pencils!

Kerby's book is one of the intimidating coloring books I have seen. but I see people no matter the coloring style, it just works wonderfully! Sarah I love to see you really enjoyed coloring on this book. I will take your advice to just start and enjoy the process! 🙂

I'm not sure if I can tell you just how much this helped me. I have a developed my own coloring style and it is just doing layers and layers and layers of polychromos. Detail work. It takes me AGES to finish anything. But watching you do this.... I was enraptured because watching it is soooo different from my own style and any time I tried to guess what you would do you did the opposite and it came out absolutely incredible. I REALLY need to get out of my comfort zone. This looks beautiful and it looked.... fun. I want that.

For the record: the "colors that naturally occur" in minute 1m31s are synthetically created, i.e., the galaxies themself don't have those colors, but they are added in order to make the structures more visible.

Loving your Kerby pages! He is my favourite artist and I love colouring in his books. We are moving house tomorrow morning and I have kept out Fantamorphia and a set of pencils while packing everything else just so I can keep my sanity while surrounded by boxes 😂

Galaxy backgrounds are so beautiful and I love making them with watercolor. I let the colors mix and mingle on their own and it turns out beautifully. This page turned out so cool!

Thank you so much, Sarah for doing another Kirby Rosane coloring page. I was so excited for the first and I am currently really excited to be watching this one. I love the galaxy background so much. It just brings the whole picture together! No I haven’t colored a picture this elaborate yet but I am going to order the “worlds within worlds” coloring book very soon and I’m super excited. Looks stunning , that background , it really looks beautiful and stands out ! love how in Kerby's books that you can be a bit different ! amazing and beautiful ! have not tried a galaxy background I do want to but so busy but i might just have to try this weekend take time out for fun ! I would love to learn oil pastel galaxy backgrounds they look cool also :)

So creative is what I can say about your painting, how you use color to fill and blend colors together perfectly. Especially when you color in the small details in the picture, I was thrilled to watch it carefully to make sure not to miss any details.

I really like when you give an approximation of how much time you spent on each page. I feel like when things are sped up and timelapsed it's easy to forget how long the process takes. I know I get frustrated when things take too long, but hearing your time estimates makes that part of things more bearable, then I know that I'm not slow, it's just a long process. :)

Always a joy to watch you creating artworks in your videos! I believe that you and a few others are elevating coloring in coloring books to a level above where it has been for quite some time! I do believe that you do encourage your viewers to apply the same techniques to separate artworks! Nicely done Sarah. this loοκs awesome im glad to see someone else uses a waterbrush as a blender marker. i gvot the caran d'ache waterbrush with the the felt tip and add rubbing alcohol with some glycerin in it to use as a colorless blender it works really well

It is insanely encouraging to watch these videos. Art has always seemed so out of reach for someone who never fostered the skill when I was young, but having just started painting minis, I'm realizing that anyone can develop these types of skills. Thanks for making content like this!

Just FYI using a very fine water rush filled with water works really well on his pages. I do it all the time. The smaller brush releases very little water. Actually better than alcohol.

Yay, another Kerby Rosanes page!! I just bought this book a couple weeks ago and I have fallen in love with it! The galaxy is super beautiful and looks amazing, well done! If you do another page from this book, can I suggest the one with the books and the waterfall? Trying to make the water look like it's rushing or transparent could be an interesting challenge...

Karen from 'My Colourful Country Life' has just completed this entire book and she has a color along for every page, including the library page. I've learned so much by watching her color in Kerby's books; before I found her channel I was soooo intimidated and wouldn't dare start a Kerby page - now I'm almost halfway through the book :)

The colorless alcohol blender will also smooth out some regular colored pencils. I've tested it on Crayola, prisma color, and arteza

This is my favorite video that you have done! I am a huge fan of Kirby and the space subject matter. You took this coloring page and made it your own by making the planets eclipse and adding the reflection to the helmet. I have never thought to color over the details on the page to create something new. I generally stay in the lines. Thank you!

Thanks Sarah (and Shane) for another inspirational colouring page. As you talk through your process it makes me think about possibilities. I am very fearful of backgrounds, but particularly love this galaxy. Finding reference photos for backgrounds could be the answer for me.😀🤞

Oh wow. This inspired me to turn one of the Mermaids in one of my Selina Fenech books into a galaxy mermaid that swims through space! :D I haven't chosen which one yet but I'm so excited to try it out.
