Sounds to me like she didn't tell her family about their relationship, probably because she was leading him on or using him as a back up plan or until someone better comes along. It was also possible, in my opinion, that because she's an avoidant, she was using him as a security blanket for the other relationship, because she knew she tends to break up after a certain amount of time. She broke up with him when she felt secured enough in the other relationship, but it didn't last. Her avoidance of public displays of affection - e.g. he needed to ask permission to hold her hand, makes me wonder whether there was any physical intimacy at all between them, and that in turn makes me think she may have not even considered them a couple, for certain not enough to share that fact with her family and friends, or to risk that he will behave "bofriendly" upon meeting with them. We may give her the benefit of the doubt and think she was honest in dating him and really tried to make it work, and found herself in a weird situation where she's not physically attracted to him but he's still a friend she doesn't want to lose so she just played along for a while. But honestly, it doesn't sound like she cares about him enough to do that, not from her current behavior...

If she meets someone a few weeks later, you can be sure she met that person during your relationship. And they didn't only meet, but at the very least were flirting, or more likely dating. This is a phenomenon called monkey branching if you want to read more about it. It hurts like hell, I've been there. And she left me for someone I considered one of my best friends. So I know. It's horrible. But at least they both showed their true colors and helped you get rid of themselves and eachother. You're better off without "friends" like these. Also if you find out a few weeks later and they are adamant that they didn't cheat on you, you can ignore that. My ex was trying to convince me even after the guy confessed. So yeah, don't let them play their mind games on you. They want to keep you as plan B and that's it. Funny thing is, when I didn't buy her bullshit, she eventually said she "wanted to tell me a few weeks later". Yeah. Sure. Even if that was true, I bet she would've told me like "we just got together" instead of telling me "we got together while you and me were still together". Pathetic.

Oh my this is so similar to my situation. My recent ex chased me on and off for 8 years. He meets a new girl and threw me under the bus after knowing her for 8 days…and I’m not kidding. He was using me to be a mom to his 2 tiny kids that didn’t have a mom and it felt like this is the only reason he ever wanted me. Like why would you throw me away for a married girl to just be “friends” with that now lives beside him? It infuriated me too. I finally done the no contact after a very long story and he reached out by sending me a picture of his kid that he knew I loved and had cut me off from seeing once I caught him up in the disloyalty. So after 6 weeks I get a random pic of his kid and I still have no idea what he done it for cause he isn’t being nice. Already back to playing head games. I’m just bumfuzzled at it all. It’s unreal.

Hi Craig I got to jump on this, I think you did not understand the situation here, I think when the girl first said she like that guy as well she was maybe caught out of guard because that guy that she see as a friend revealed to her that he had a feeling for her, sometimes girls would say me as well but as they don't want to hurt the feeling of her friend, she talking about other guys with that guy[the friend] because she sees him only as a friend, not as a romantic partner, she is actually behaving as friend but that guy want more and clearly she is not interested by that with him

He clearly overestimated their previous friendship. And their relationship. I think they’ve KNOWN each other since they were kids, probably had a childlike friendship and they’re still interacting like kids.

My ex moved on within 6 days. Assume she lined up the new guy while we were still together. I saw things going sideways, tried to fix it but she was already cold and bitter. She pulled the pin, I walked away while leaving the door open

It truly broke my heart we were together for a year and 2 months she left me saying we can get back together after some time she told me about 2 months then come to find out only 30 days later she’s in bed with some other guy and telling me she’s the happiest I’ve ever been my heart sank like a ship I still feel sick knowing she’s being sexual with someone else after all that time and effort I gave her my virginity and she’s just being cruel.

I bet she's a pretty good looking girl. This is the typical anxious avoidant deal though she was narcissistic and devaluing towards him. After all those years he finally let down his guard and expressed growing attachment.. so obviously she wasn't feeling as attached as he was and little by little it became apparent to each of them making her become more avoidant driving him to become desperately anxious. She obviously tried to avoid hurting his feelings but he would not value himself so it just kept snowbaling into a worse and worse situation. Ultimately he's just not standing up for himself or for his self-worth. Yes she selfishly used him for validation even after discarding him but It does take two to tango. Unfortunately he's just allowing her to hurt him over and over for fear of losing her. If he would stand up for himself and draw the line in the sand she would at least have an opportunity to respect him. To blame her solely for this scenario is like to give a baby candy before dinner and then blaming the baby for eating the candy. Men need to be men. I'm not saying he needs to take responsibility for her actions but he needs to at least take responsibility for his end of the deal. I know it's very difficult for him at this point and his masculinity is on a hiatus until he gets himself back together.

My girlfriend left me three months ago. I was in a mad situation i could not function i did every mistake in the book. I call her more then 200x text her and begg her to stay even though she cheats me and it was my mistake to caught her cheating horrible!. She broke it off with me because I had to leave the country anyway, for a while she was telling me she didn’t feel like she used too about me even though she would still be affectionate behind closed doors. But the last two weeks I was there she was very cruel and nasty and made out that I was such a bad guy, and after she started bringing another guy (older than me and more than double her age!) into the apartment we shared and started doing stuff with him while I was in the other room (audible enough for me to hear). Despite that I still remember the person she was before all that, and I wish one day I could have her back or at the very least have her realise what she lost

In past his attraction was fake he went to the another women ,s house ,He was speaking wrong about my mom. Women did joke to me ,you go and meet him he had the sexual relation with those women. Among them one woman was so do jealous to me .she took help of his boy friends and he was drowned in the canal by the boys and she made her relations forcly with him .
