I think some of the rebound relationships actually start before the dumper breaks up with the dumpee. I think that's what gives them the courage to go through with the break up.

It is called monkey branching, but it could also be viewed as an exit affair, because it essentially is having an emotional affair since they were in a relationship with you. and if affair fog is a real thing it explains why they made such a stupid impulsive decision

My ex and I actually made it to the crises point. And he chose the rebound. But also called me twice a day everyday after he made his choice to commit to her. When we got together to talk it through, he told me he loved me but couldn’t be with me. “At least not right now”, he said. The new relationship skirts on the edge of him compromising his values. He’s aware. He even said he didn’t know yet if his new relationship would be a sustained “viable relationship “. His words. He went in for the kiss when we said good night. He still seems confused. I’m numb. I didn’t fix what needed to fix in order to get back together. He wants to be my friend forever. He even said that if anyone told him he couldn’t be friends with me, he would choose me. I’m more confused than ever. I could benefit from coaching.

Last Week Me & My GF of 5 years have called it a day.Her Choice lost feelings!! I was mature about it and said she needs to be happy. This also happened in Feb 2021 and wanted me back in July 2021…Which we did.Her hysterectomy Op in 2020 change her,Sent her in to early menopause. I really hope this turns around!! She’s had a lot go off her life this year.Her mum has been diagnosed with throat cancer & her daughter has has mental health problems for the first half of this year!! . We work at the same place . She’s not asked me to pick up my clothes from hers . Said she wants me to sit with her at dinner time still ( work ) . Still got our pics on her FB

I have a situation where the ex (dumper) told a trusted source that they are not interested in dating anyone after the breakup because they promised the dumpee they wouldn't. You would think this would be a positive sign for reunification, but 2 months of no contact and there are no signs of him wanting to reconnect with her either. In fact, he appears indifferent. Is it possible for a person who is making life decisions based on their ex to be indifferent to the ex? He won't even respond to a simple post no-contact reach out by her.

I hurt so bad. I love him so much. 1.5 years together. We truly had a good relationship. Our love was strong! He's 66 I'm 64 so we are kids. I was dealing with grief from the loss of my husband so I was depressed too. Our breakup was primarily over my being needy and just not feeling like doing anything so even though he loves me, he chose to move out. We still seen one another. But 5hen suddenly he ended things. Ive been devastated. My heart is breaking!! 😢 i want him back. Ive worked on myself now for 7 months!! There's been no communication. Ive been blocked/ghosted every where except Facebook so he can see my profile, but no messenger, texts or calls. He treated me so well. Please help me

I've been blocked for a few months now, his brother told me 2 days ago he's getting married and having a baby. 9 years of on and off, I'm broken hearted all over again :(

At least he still wants to be friend with you. This is actually a good start and you should have hope. There are many ex who can't be friends at all, including mine. ;)
