I saw the leaks as well, and I will say I hope its not a massive missed opportunity. My idea is the blade was some variation of "Tyrant Slayer", the blade that slew Apollyon. When the warmongers came, their first target was the Emperor's Chosen. While the Emperor's Chosen was able to escape the capital, they knew their time was limited and, figuring at least something of them should survive, gave that blade to a servant and told them to hide it somewhere secret. Unfortunately, the Emperor's Chosen was caught and executed during the first Horkos Carousal, dealing a massive blow to any thoughts of resistance within the Myre. The upside is that servant kept that promise and hid the blade, having a feeling it can inspire someone to fulfill its title once more. Years later, an Orochi was able to find the blade and decided that the blade shall be used again, unaware he is being hunted by a very persistent collector.

What I would like Ubisoft to do next year is to release new maps that relate to the outlanders like imagine a desert map where you can see the pyramids of Giza in the distance or a Chinese harbor map with tons of ships or a jungle map with mesoamerican pyramids and a huge Olmec stone head

I've had so many discussions regarding a bash for Nuxia. And I am completely on board with it. Players say that I'm arguably the most knowledgeable when it comes to Nuxia. But will think differently regarding a bash because they don't want another bash character implemented. The key reason why I believe a bash is one of the key things that Nuxia needs is not just to have a proper opener but to also expand her identity and allow her traps to be utilized more properly. Because a very small number of players that have learned from me know that you can take advantage of opponent recoveries into neutral at the right frame with traps. You can trap on a heavy parry, it's a proper 50/50 and it has more accuracy when you throw the trap at the same direction where you parried the opponents heavy. And you can zone trap on a GB, light parry and wall-splat and it will have a high likeliness of connecting. Utilizing this the same way as a follow up from a bash would give Nuxia so much for flow into her chain offense. The reason why I say a proper 50/50 is because throwing a trap from neutral and at any given time in your chain, there are numerous of option selects that still just negate traps completely. Miss parry windows are the biggest issue, the opponent literally gets rewarded for assuming a light parry or making the wrong read entirely and it's the most annoying thing to deal with being a Nuxia player but Nuxia has the lowest pick-rate in the game so players don't truly see that the trap issue was never truly tackled.

There is one thing that I really want for the new hero and that is a unique running attack and zone attacks, I feel that since black prior all characters have a very boring and generic running and zone attacks, with the exception of zanhu's and ocelotl's zone attacks or gryphon's and jormungandr's running attacks all other characters have a quick running attack that starts chains or a zone attack that is quick and start chains which I find so boring and generic, it's not a character breaking thing but it's still something that bothers me a bit. Also, from the leaks, we kinda saw the silhouette of the new hero and he seems to be carrying at least four pretty large weapons so he could have multiple stances, maybe an offensive and hidden stance though I don't know how they would fit four pretty large weapons on three stances but it does look promising. Lastly, what I want for the new hero is to be a bit more focused on the "warrior" part rather than the "monk" part, don't get me wrong, I don't mind the more spiritual side of the samurai but it just feels that whenever there is a samurai season spirituality is always on the center, hitokiri, kyoshin, meiko,... and that's not bad, I like this seasons but it feels a bit like a one trick pony, like if all the viking seasons were about pillaging and raiding or the knights were all about honor and protecting their people, yes this are core things from each of the factions but there is more to them that this generic stereotype that can be done. Overall I'm looking forward to this next season, the hero skin looked pretty nice and I can't wait to see what they do with the new hero.

A warrior monk like that would be really cool, preferably with those white hoods that they often wear and the weapons in the picture are also really cool

I personally think this hero skin will adapt and interpret the story of Minamoto no Yoshitsune (The Hero skin inspiration) and Benkei (The Hero inspiration). I believe this mainly from the iconography and callbacks to said story in the leaked story trailer. A lone warrior cutting won those he deems unworthy of being called samurai, lying down amidst a field of swords, playing a flute, the shadow looming over him of a horned demon wielding many weapons, as seen from the multiple handles on the back of the silhouette. As for how this hero skin may tie into the lore of For Honor specifically, there are a few options. a) He is a new character made to be an analog character of Minamoto no Yoshitsune. b) He might be as Raven said, the brother of Meiko, wielding a new demonic weapon, a muramasa blade, that are depicted in pop culture as having a bloodlust inducing curse to them. He may be wielding this weapon as a burden, but is slowly succumbing to it's power, thus his slaughter of what he perceives as 'lesser samurai'. c) The fallen emperor. In the campaign, it is stated that the emperor was killed by Apollyon and her men when they sieged the imperial palace, after that we hear nothing of any kind of emperor in the Myre. Now this emperor character does have some existing models, using various armour pieces from the og samurai characters and bears a resemblance to our hero skin, he even wielded a katana like an orochi, despite having the vest of a nobushi and the helmet of a kensei. So perhaps this new hero skin could be a fallen emperor that survived the assassination from Apollyon's men and retreated back into hiding, now coming back to reclaim his throne and cleanse the samurai of those in their ranks that do not adhere to his ideals of a samurai, like shinobis, aramushas and etc. He even mentions a life of peace and quiet no longer meant for him, potentially hinting at a previous life of tranquility or solitude. It could also be a previous or following emperor character given his visual resemblance to the model for the emperor. d) The Emperor's Champion returns. Outside of the character's ideals and the mention of a previous life, this theory doesn't have much backing to it. The character comes out of hiding or retirement to cut down his fellow Samurai that he deems unworthy or contradictory to the samurai ideals. It was mentioned in y4s4 that many young samurai were captivated by the strength and resolve of Horkos. Perhaps this hero skin is trying to cleanse the samurai of this newer generation, and who better to cleanse the Myre of Astrea's corruption than the man who ended Apollyon, coming out of retirement to wield a blade representing this mission of cleansing the Myre of this new wicked generation.

Besides a Sohei they could go with a Okinawan warrior with either Tonfas or Nunchuks both weapons from Okinawa

I also thought from the beginning that it could be a sohei, but given that we already have a naginata in the game I thought he could wield a nagamaki, a long-handled katana that is between a naginata and a katana, but is still neither. so it wouldn't look too similar, and from this perspective they seem like a very versatile weapon, I even think I remember seeing soheis being represented with them

i know they most likely never do this but i would like to see a samurai character with a 2nd stance being a whole new weapon. like their fist weapon being a katana or a nodachi and the 2nd being a kanabo or like the smaller version of that.

I wish for a serious re-work of match-making. I am mediocre at FH, I don’t have those über fighting skills, period. Yet the majority of matches I am placed against way more skilled enemies. Even though the game has the audacity to tell me I am on par with my opponents. So much fun …

I've probably said it before on this channel but all I want is a samurai with armor that's somewhat historically accurate (can have different armor sets from different time periods like o-yoroi, tosei gosoku, nanban gosoku, etc.) and uses a Nagamaki. I think basing a hero off of Ayu from the campaign would be perfect, since the Nagamaki is still a bit different while still being very similar to the Nodachi.

thought i would share an idea i had for a two katana character, the weapons may be similar to musha but i have a cool idea for the moveset. firstly, they will be able to be put together similar to darth mall and taken apart as a stance. let me cook, it's not just medjay 2. next, he cannot switch stances whenever he wants. third, he will have 3 stances accessable from different occasions. after a light, he can access his light stance with mobility and strong offense (both swords facing forward like musha). after a heavy he may combine his swords to enter his heavy stance, which will have lots of unblockable with big hitboxes and some hyperarmor. for the third stance, after blocking or parrying he may enter his defensive stance with the weakest mix ups, but super high punishes and defensive abilities. after a parry you would have to choose the max punish from defensive stance at the expense of weaker mix ups after. this would fit the master of weapons theme.

So for the knights an evening star would be possible, it is like the morning star only with a long handle for 2 hands, axes of course too, a one-handed sword without a shield, a spear, pole hammer, war hammer, knight is really simple

The samurai and the Viking’s are my favourite factions, followed closely by Wu Lin. These next seasons will probably get me back into the game, looking forward to see the new hero as well

With the new hero, I commented a while back. Have the new hero wield a Yumi bow - melee combat like the Shaolin with a sort of ranged arrow shot like vanilla shinobi. Hard to make balanced but the idea is cool (to me)

You could do a samurai character with war fans, there is a whole fighting style for it. Maybe even give them a passive feat to block throwables with it. Could even have two style choices for armor appearance; one thats more geisha-esque, and one thats more samurai-esque.

I would love to see a bannermen or standarbearer that has acess to offhands that can be changed via feets.

I hope the new hero is like a graceful, beautiful, fast and deadly Japanese princess with they're weapons being fan blades like Kitana from mortal kombat, a princess who wishes to bring order in the myer and then to heathmore with her armor being a very VERY beautiful ornate dress with maybe variations of light armor on her

In terms of weapons for the samurai 2 I would like to see tho I'm not 100% sure how practical they would as I haven't been able to use them myself are Tonfa's and Kumi Tekko I think it would be cool to see them in game

I think the most unique weapon they could do for the samurai is something based on tessenjutsu, most likely dual wielding iron fans.

I'm calling it now, new hero is gonna be a "chameleon". Able to change style into whoever else is on battlefield upon spawn. Kinda like mystique from X-Men....but with weapons. Hence the master of weapons they said at start of season

I think the poleblade is a good weapon you could make , it would not work like medjay it would work different, like ealoneora’s poleblade from Elden ring

Hey Raven, what do you think about the idea of instead of the new hero being a straight out samurai, it's more like highlander is to the Vikings in the sense that highlanders weren't Vikings but fought with and against them and are connected to them through the Norse invasion of England. With the samurai, maybe this or another new hero could be Portuguese/Jesuit or more likely Mongolian wielding some form of saber.

In the argument of finding a different weapon for the new samurai hero, I don't think it would be difficult to give the new hero a weapon. The new weapon might be an original/modified one, based in the culture but not entirely historic. We've seen this in other heroes already like Hito, Medjay, maybe even Shinobi. Yes, japanese executioners could've used axes, but Ubi modified Hito's to be two-sided; Egyptians could've had fan-axes, but not really much about it being able to fuse and split on the fly; and Shinobi's kama doesn't really work like what it is in the game as it is in real life, it's more theatrical. My personal theory is that the new hero could be a dual-wielder. Originally they would have twin-shuko, they were spikes worn on the hands used by ninjas for climbing and sometimes parrying. Ubisoft could modify this and make it full-blown wolverine claws. This could give us the hand-to-hand fighter a lot of the fans want. However, it would be difficult to customize them because Ubi usually needs three parts of a weapon to customize and they should be visible. So to remedy this, what if on one-hand he had the modified shuko; on the other he had a tanto, the japanese dagger. That way we can customize the tanto's blade and handle along with the shuko. The new hero would be a close range duelist assassin, then make them a Sohei. Sohei were well-versed lots of weapons, at least what a lot of media has shown us.

I’m 80% sure the new hero will be a warrior monk Who collects weapons of those he defeats based on Benkei, quit reading if you don’t want any spoilers but in the leaks There’s the shadow of the new hero and he appears like a large man with many weapons on his back, I got the idea because he reminded me of Onimaru from one piece and looking into it i found out that that character is based on Benkai, a japanese warrior monk Who was depicted with a lot of weapons on his back and was said to take the weapons of those he defeated, and it would only make sense for him to go after the hero skin to get his katana

The devs said the new samurai is inspired by benkei(?) The warrior monk that used like 3 weapons(?). I think the benkei hero is possible but hard to create, maybe the new hero has 2 weapons and can switch between them, like medjay BUT the moveset actually changes to a certain degree, like new chains and moves. I say how it is, i think they should take a break from heroes for the knights, vikings and samurai... they should focus for 2 years only on the wu lin, imo 3 Wu Lin heroes and an outlander. Raven, i also think they can dip into fantasy weapons a lot more, in my opinion they did a near perfect job with medjay. I do agree tho that we need more new maps, and for honor needs to go back to its roots, Unique heroes with unique movesets, i saw SO MUCH POTENTIAL with Varangian... yet it ended up as a boring 2 hit chain hero that is even more boring and easy to play than warlord and ocelotl combined...

My hope is that if the samurai hero is like benkei, give him a split staff. But don't do what Medjay has. Don't split the staff to two parts but keep it together. It could be cool.

What's with this hito hate? There are definitely other characters to hate before hito. Reworking lawbro might be one of the hardest things to figure out in for honor but they did do one good thing for him already and it was hyper armor on his second heavy which i feel like they should keep going in that direction because he's supposed to bring the law so he should be able to trade attacks just like shugo or hito. The nux thing, i feel like her traps should just be that one feat afrea has where it just grabs the person or if the traps lands it adds bleed because her and serk are the only assassins that doesn't apply bleed.

how about only handing out nerfs and giving out bashes, we further strenghten what characters are good at, and give each and every hero that doesnt have anything unique something that gives their playstyle a bit of personality? And for the love of god, stop balancing only around 4v4, duelists should be duelists and thus be stronger in duels than in 4v4, make the game make sense, furthermore, buff duel and brawl rewards and xp gain so that the gamemode isnt only for fun but also grindable and rewarding.
