In this video, Chloe Jade Travels to Antarctica on the Swan Hellenic SH Vega
This video was recorded over 12 days in November 2023
This is the REALITY of going to Antarctica on a luxury expedition ship
I think people do not realize how accessible Antarctica has become with such strong ships to get through the Drake Passage.
The main video is 35 minutes long, with a 12-minute Q&A at the end.
I will be taking a group in December 2024, but I get into that at the end of the video

Thank you for sharing this. I'd like to go with this company when I do my Antarctica trip but I want to do the longer trip that includes South Georgia...I'm having trouble finding a travel agent who handles Swan. Any suggestions? I'd love to say I could afford the solo cabin price on their website directly, but I can't and would love to find some alternative pricing if possible.. not doing it for a couple of years because I need to save $$. It will be the most expensive trip I ever take!

Love your video. I went to Antarctica in 2017. Drakes passage was a nightmare. I got so sick and was relying on medicine my doctor had given me rather than Dramamine. That was a huge mistake. And then our state room window shattered so we had to leave our state room and go to another one and were so sick. It was a challenge to pack and move. A crew member had to guide me to the new room because I was so unsteady. I think it’s the worst travel experience I’ve ever had but when we arrived, it was so worth it. I’d love to go back, but never to the Drake!

TERRIFIC! What an awesome trip you and your friend had. Definitely have this on my bucket list. Did you spend any time in Buenos Aires prior to leaving on the expedition? Seems like such a long voyage just to get there, so I’m curious if you did. Would love to hear about your plans for the december 2024 trip, or future trips. Sounds like you’ve made a job out of these adventures, so congrats on that. I agree, there’s nothing wrong with some luxury to balance out the adventure!!! I don’t see the airfare portion of the trip advertised on their website. Does your trip in December have the same arrangement with the flights to/from Buenos Aires?

So it REALLY varies. I explain more towards end in the Q&A. But I’m taking a group next Dec with group pricing for $8500 per person. All you need to pay on top of that is the flight to Buenos Aires otherwise it’s all included! They give a parka to keep and boots to use on board too. It’s expensive but if you budget and pay monthly over a year can feel a bit easier for pay for the bucket list trip for sure.

You've educated me a lot and I like your style, including the whispering One small issue is: please consider using a sound stabilizer because when you switch between wishpering and music or regular recording, it gets really loud then really low again. A good and free sound stabilizer is ffmpeg. Here's an example command using ffmpeg to stabilize the sound: ```shell ffmpeg -i input.mp4 -af "dynaudnorm" -c:v copy output.mp4 ``` Explanation: - `-i input.mp4`: Specifies the input video file. - `-af "dynaudnorm"`: Applies the `dynaudnorm` audio filter to stabilize the sound. - `-c:v copy`: Copies the video stream without re-encoding. - `output.mp4`: Specifies the output video file.
