A good question, I will answer it from consulting genuine theological pastors for a long time. In the new testament we have the Centurion (Luke 7:1-10) who commanded an Italian regiment as the Bible describes him and notes that he was God fearing and generous. I personally know 4: two served in Vietnam, one in world war 2, and the other gulf war one. They're from different nationalities but all have one thing in common, they say military service inspired them to be clergymen and men of God. The endurance, discipline, brotherhood and comradeship from the army helped them to be successful pastors, clergymen and church leaders. Bottomline, serving in the military is not only OK for Christians but it signifies a higher calling in one's life to serve one's nation dutifully and with patriotism. Its not about killing people only 🤣🤣🤣, because I know that where people's conscience is challenged. In some situations, military men are more prayerful and more Godly than civilians in the extreme case of trials. God Himself is a "Man of war" (Exodus 15:3) "mighty in battle" read for yourself.
