My Experience in SHAOLIN TEMPLE

This video is based on My experience in Shaolin Temple, Yunnan. I have many happy memories from the 11 months I spent here training traditional shaolin kung fu with real shaolin warrior monks and living in a buddhist temple in China. I've used all my own videos and stills to make it.
Hope you enjoyed watching this as much I did making it. This video has been in the pipeline for a long time, and with isolation giving me more time on my hands, I've finally been able to do it. Hope everyone is staying safe & healthy.

I liked the first 10 minutes the best! As just a general viewer who hasn't been to the temple the first half is amazing. Personally for me I liked the last half with all the memories.

Thanks for sharing your shaolin journey. Really cool! As a kung fu student myself I am always spending time to warming up and recovering (lesson learned after a painful muscle strain). As for that, how do the shifus guide the students in Shaolin Temple? Also, i second the suggestion to a video on the daily life in ST (food, ceremonies, rest time, mandarim classes?) 🙏

Can an eighteen year old from the U.S, alone without guidance from parents there, manage with the temples help?... What I mean is, will I have to make my own decisions while there for six months to a year, or does the temple give you instructions on how to live with them step by step?

Hey Shi Hengyi thank you for all the emails yu have sent me I am truely looking forward to training at the temple one day also wanted to ask you where did you get your name cause im sure you know there is another Shi Heng Yi and he is a Master and very famous

He got it from his shifu, who would have been a Shaolin wuseng (warrior monk) by the name of Shi Yan something. When a monk takes on a disciple he gives them a dharma name that corresponds to the characters in a poem. "Shi" is a short form of the Buddha's name, then the next character in the poem ("Yan" is the 33rd, "Heng" is the 34th, etc), then a name that is personal between master and disciple, something that describes the disciple or something the disciple should aspire to, in his case "Yi". So it's possible you would get a name that's already been given to someone else.
