Hope you all are having a great start to the new year! Speaking of new, today we will look at this new(ish) feature called MultiMerge. Long story short, it functions like the traditional Merge node, but comes with a twist. If you work in Fusion quite a bit, do a lot of compositing, or are simply interested in getting started with Fusion in DaVinci Resolve, this video might help.
Enjoy!

OK, wonderful video, important teaching... Important questions were missing such as why to use it, which scenarios to use is better than simple merge, when to never use it and when - which scenarios to use both together, working together is ideal. These are important points, especially for beginners and intermediates... I follow the channels of really professional editors and I don't see them using multimerge... It would certainly be a different teaching, but without it it would be incomplete in my point of view.

MultiMerge node was a nice addition to Fusion because there are times when its really beneficial to have one node to keep it all nice and tidy, especially with motion graphics as you show. MultiMerge concept is not new to Fusion, it existed before in various flavors via third party Reactor used to host user made macros. Still some good ones for this work there. But its great that Blackmagic added it officially to Fusion for all users. I think it could still use a bit of tweaking since it does not always remember the names of the nodes added as layers in the MultiMerge node, but other than that, it does what it meant to do and does it well. Cheers!

100%, I am with you, it is a nice addition that definitely could use a bit of tweaking. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Really nice tutorial and explanation of the differences. Just a couple of small suggestions on your videos - 1. Please learn a little about the Fairlight page and reduce the loudness of your SFX. 2. Perform some acoustical treatment to your room or buy the $29 Clarity de-echo from Waves to get rid of the room echo on your voice track.

❗explain the process of squeezing maps using the 3DExtrude Node and how to prepare a properly layered map layout in SVG format so that you can work with it conveniently. Now I am faced with such a problem that I have a map of Argentina and when transferring it to Fusion, many divisions into cities are formed and, accordingly, it is unrealistic for me to animate each country in order to show three-dimensional graphics. How can this be simplified?
