That's a valuable initiative, Theresa. The home edition is a recent development primarily due to restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, and as I see it, it's here to stay. In the same way, the transition from paper-based to internet-based tests years ago might have caused some hesitation at first. And today, taking a paper-based test is barely an option. So, congrats. I'm sure this video will help prospective testees.

Heyy i have an inbuilt camera and microphone and when I checked with proctor u they showed a tick mark , so do i need to buy new micro and cam ??

Hey, if the tick you are saying is a ✅ then you are good. No need to buy new ones.

May I ask what computer you used? I have a macbook air M1. I did the equipment test and I always have the error that my ram is full but when I restart google it gives the congratulations message?

Hey! Oh, we have the same name! How nice :) Well, my computer is a Lenovo. I had some trouble while testing as well. What helped me was to download the extension of proctor U in Chrome and to use the Chrome while running the test. If I used the internet explorer, it would always say that it had errors... Perhaps if you deleted some things from your computer to make sure you have enough ram...

I guess that a week after my test ETS sent me an email saying that my official scores were ready. Also, you will know your listening and reading scores when you finish the test. The speaking and the writing are a bit harder to correct, so these take longer to get ready.

When you are taking the test, they don't really say if the question is one of those extra ones... They just put the questions there lol. My listening section was huge. It took forever to end. So I think they put the extra questions there.

Not possible at all. The test is ALL your computer will be able to access.

I’ve had a horrible experience. My so called proctor did not even log me into the exam and then after trying for several more hours ETS blamed it on my end, completely disregarding their irresponsive proctor. I lost 255 dollars, my time and earned a horrible trauma. So don’t take the home test. Avoid TOEFL altogether if possible. IELTS was much better. But then again I took the physical exam. Never go for an online exam guys. Very easy for them to cancel your exam and refuse refund or reschedule with various excuses like “your webcam disconnected” or “ you had less Ram” etc.

Hey there! I wouldn't say that TOEFL is difficult. I would say that: it is not a test about English. It is a test on how to do the test! So, even if you have an intermediate English, it is possible to take a 100+ score. You have to understand the test, its questions, and the best ways to answer them. Take a prep course! It will help you sooooo much! Is the Lincoln TOEFL ibt the same as the regular TOEFL ibt?? If yes, than you have to study how to do the test. Take practice tests, watch KZfaq videos about TOEFL...

Hey In the speaking section, you have questions like: read this text and listen to this audio. Now, speak for 1 minute about the problems that the text and the audio talk about. So, if you want to get a good score, you must write down every detail you hear in the audio and read in the text. This way, when it's your time to speak, you will have everything noted down. It's easier this way than to use only your memory.

Hey there! I dont think Brazilian unis require TOEFL, as it is not an English speaking country. If you want to enroll in a BR university you should search about ENEM. Some BR unis such as FGV, LINK and ALBERT EINSTEIN also give you the option to apply using international tests as well.

For PhD programs, most of the Brazilians universities require TOEFL or other tests like IELTS, etc. The scores are variable, but surely less than the Americans universities.

Hey! No way! I really enjoyed my experience with the home edition. You just have to pay extra attention to things like: the quality of your internet, charging your computer... But if I had to take TOEFL again, I would definitely do the home edition again 🤗
