What a great day! Today was my hubby's 80th birthday. All the kids came home , bringing the food with them, including a homemade carrot cake made by our daughter. I was talking with my daughter about makeup and retin-A yesterday, and she said, "How old are you now? 68? You're almost 70. You don't need to worry about that anymore." I was kinda shocked out of words (which is unusual for me). But it's not that I worry about it as much as I love skin care and make up. I have fun with it and it's one of my self-care practices. I’m 63 and have used make up pretty much every day since I turned 18. I love what make up does for me, enhancing my good features and diminishing the less good ones. I don’t understand why so many women my age and younger decide not to do anything about their looks, even having all the time in the world. Hi Patti. I have just discovered your KZfaq videos and just adore you! I'll be 70 this year, and I had completely stopped wearing any make up when I retired at 62. I have recently come to realize that I feel more confident, more youthful and more energized when I wear make up. It means that I have intentionally taken the time to care for myself. I have been fascinated by hairstyles and makeup since I was 8 or 9, watching my teenage sister put on her makeup. I went to cosmetology school while in high school and became licensed when I was 21. I still love makeup at 59, and had started to wonder if I was insecure and shallow, trying to 'hide' my age behind the makeup. But I finally realized I see makeup, hairstyling, clothing color and styles, nail shape and color and shoes as an ART. I love figuring out how color and shape can compliment each other on the canvas of my face, head, clothing, hands (nails) etc. I LOVE playing with color and shape like a sculptor or painter

I'm just coming up to 65, and have worn make up since I was 13. I shall continue wearing it until I physically can't lift up a buffing brush anymore. I'm really big into my skin care products as well. You look absolutely amazing, and if I can come close to looking how good you do at 80, I shall be a very happy bunny. I’m one of those older ladies that you mentioned that has recently begun to wear makeup. I used makeup in my 20’s and 30’s. Then I quit for some “unremembered” reason. Now that I’m 74, I’ve begun again and I’m liking it. I don’t use much, mostly eyes, but I’m finding that I often look washed out so I bought some blush to perk me up. You always look so elegant when you’ve finished your makeup. That’s what I strive for-elegance.

I’m 76 years old since April 1. My sister asked me why I bother with make up………now she’s complaining about wrinkles and requesting the name of my sea collagen, moisturizer and what ever else I take for supplements. She thinks I look younger for my age. Well, it would have been so much better if she started earlier. I am not heavy handed with make up but I do like foundation, shadow and definitely lipstick. Unfortunately I no longer have eye lashes (thyroid) so buying mascara is useless. Forget the false ones that I wore in my twenties! I tried. It it was hopeless. Anywsy, I do my best to take care of me. I encourage women to drink lots of water! I take Vitamin C, D, B Complex and Omega 3 . Eat your vegetables and fruit! As long as I have vision, I will work on my face! 😁

I'm a ways from my 80's but after years of working on a keyboard I've lost the strength in my hands/fingers so a very long time ago I started using a nutcracker to open just about anything from the small caps on glue to the caps on salad dressing containers, as well as ketchup bottles,it gives me leverage and the nutcracker does the hard part. Anything with a bigger lid, for example jars, I turn it upside down and give the cap a good whack on the counter to break the seal. 😉

I want to share with you what I found out this week, Patti. My eyes began getting red discoloration around them. I had an eye appointment, and my doctor said it was from using eyelash serum. I’ll not be using the serum any longer. The doctor said it will go away eventually when discontinued. Wanted to share with all. You look beautiful as always!!

Jawline: carry the darker neck shade across the jowls in a straight line. This will give the illusion of a more defined neckline. You may want to use a highlighter on the jowls prior. Also, highlighter on eyelids and dark circles under eyes prior to foundation - go easy in crow feet area.

I let mine go natural, from black to salt/pepper in my 30's, to full natural during Covid... i fell in love with having no coloring, and I look pretty good with silver and some pepper with my make-up adjustments! Hi Patti. Thank you for this great video. I ordered the mascara trio you showed in your last video from HSN and I love the Benefit "They're Real" mascara. I can't believe how much it thickens and lengthens my lashes with only two coats. I've tried so many mascaras and I just haven't been able to find one that I can tell any difference. As I've gotten older, my lashes have gotten thinner and this product is a game-changer. Thank you!

Dear Patti, you look just beautiful, your eyes really sparkly as always (no makeup for that!). The highlighter gives a nice glow in these days waiting for a bit of summer sun. Here in southern CA it’s been a lot of rain. I used to live in Stuart FL and always had my hair up! Patti, you may not feel comfortable with this, just thought I would ask. You’ve mentioned that you haven’t eaten meat in years and I imagine that’s helped you stay healthy and energetic. I wondered if you’d ever consider a video offering just an idea of the kind of meals you and your husband tend to eat regularly? I do like fish and eggs but really don’t like any other form of meat. My question is how to get enough protein? I’ve always had trouble with that as it is. I realize you might not feel comfortable if you think people would take it as dietary advice. But if you’re willing to share just some ideas for meals I’d really appreciate it. Happy Spring! 💕🌷💕
