good show chap, my daughter is planning to go to film school, I was planning to surprise her with an extra tool for the bag, I like the looks of that camera, what type of computer would best fit that 6k format? thankyou for your presentation

Cheers mate, appreciate it. I personally edit on a 14-Inch M1 Max MacBook pro, which handles the files perfectly. I think even the M1 Pro machines would do great work with in, but if you have the extra budget, I'd try step up to the Max chip

Hey Kirk, do you have any exposure tips, especially with false colour?
@DesignedbyKirk
@DesignedbyKirk 10 ай бұрын
Hey there, I 95% of the time, shoot at ISO 400, and at f 1.8 - f 4 (most predominantly at 2.8), and at Shutter angle 1/180 (1/48 at 24FPS). Which means, I'm quite locked in most of the time when it comes to "setting exposure". But I do heavily rely on those ND filters, particularly when outdoors, to ensure I never clip highlights. That's the main takeaway I can give, never clip your highlights, but don't be afraid to dig deeper into the shadows. I only expose with false colour, keeping everything has balanced as possible, never clipping highlights, but trying to avoid complete blacks as much as possible. When I'm in a controlled shooting environment, I do try and light appropriately indoors, if there are any really dark components of the frame

@@DesignedbyKirk thank you that’s helpful. I guess you can always expose higher and bring it down in post.

Sick as always Kirk. Are you using any filters with what I think is the black pro mist for the first few car shots?

Too kind mate, thank-you. That's right, used a 1/4 Tiffen Black Promist for those, but I must say it's the halation effect in Davinci resolve doing all the work here

Beautiful work. I love my 6k pro as well. I recently shot my first short film and the only drawback I had was being able to get the shots I wanted in a confined space. I had to shoot most of it on the 18mm just to get anywhere close to what I needed, and barely any shallow DOF. I recently just got a Sigma FP and the 35mm on that gets me so much more room to play with image wise and DOF wise. Anything outside the 6k is magic or inside for a medium or closeup perfect. Now I think I have the best options for most scenes I'll come across. Just wondering if you ever feel limited in that way with the 6k.

Thanks mate, really appreciate it. Totally get you, in the end they're all just tools, and you have to find the right tool that will make it easier for you to achieve that creative visual vision. With a Super 35 sensor that I love, it can be harder to achieve a look with more FOV, without lens distortion. All these shots I captured are on the 18-35 or Dzo Vespid Primes, and personally I don't like to shooter any wider than 25mm. But there comes the odd project where I wish I could
