@@davelowry123 One thing to try if you're on Windows is to run the install file as administrator. Find the location of the .exe file (install.exe or other name) in explorer. Then right click it and choose "run as administrator". It worked for me for a number of stubborn plugins.

0:27 Windows has built-in Screen Capture. Push the Windows button + G, then click "yes" when you get asked if it's a game. Click on the Start Recording button (or Win + Alt + R) to begin capturing video. Oh, and personally, I think FM is very easy to program. Much easier than traditional analog synths. My very favorite free synth is Majken Chimera. It must be at least fifteen years old now, but if feels like modern music sensibilities have only really caught up to it in the past few years. It's a completely original kind of synthesizer, or at least i don't of any other VST that does this, but it's a common way of working with test equipment: all the sounds coming from Chimera are based on white noise filtered into notes using resonant bandpass filters. The "Q" of those filters decide how gnarly it sounds, and there are further modulation and delay options. The one other product that I thought sounded somewhat similar was Spitfire Audio's Contemporary Drama Toolkit, specifically the ambient patches. Edit: OMG, Synth1! Does that still work on modern computers?

oh, I definitely want to try Chimera. Synth1 does indeed work! Very low CPU usage, too. :)

@@DavidHilowitzMusic I downloaded it. It looks very vorlorn on a 4k screen, but my God are the available presets wast by now; it's like a group of people decided that this one VST is going to have more presets than the rest combined! I haven't actually tried it out yet except for a few delicious pad plonks, but with my cutting edge reverbs and effects it's going to be absolutely beautiful

There are loads of blind music producers like myself who use screen readers to make great music with Logic and reaper and the like. We're desparate to use decent sampler as part of our repertoire of sounds but I've heard you've been unresponsive to offers to help make it accessible. Can you please reconsider as the world of music surely is something we shouldn't be shut out off and making software accessible isn't so difficult these days. Native Instruments and Reaper and others actively do this. Decent Sampler is a step change in music-making for every home producer it's hard not to be allowed to use it. Please put a little time aside to think about this.🤞
