Great list! I was wondering about your personal thoughts regarding the SA6 MK II vs. the Variations?

Ordered my SA6 mk II and I can't wait to get them, nice to see they made the top of your list at $600. I've really been enjoying my studio 4 as well. Haven't gotten the bug to buy the B3, yet. As always, an awesome video.

Out of curiosity, don't you think the upper treble of the SA6 mk2 emphasised a bit too much? from a drummer perspective? I'm also a full time musician, I used the SA mk1 to monitor recording everyday for the last year, and I just got the SA6 mk2 today, and when I listen to it, the hi-hat of my own song became a bit sizzling and a bit too "noticeable", but when I listen back with my studio monitor it doesn't have that issue. The mk2 it's kind of a wired upgrade to my opinion, it got more sub-bass, and a wider sound stage, yet a less accurate treble. 🤣 Just curious what you think about this also from a musician's perspective.

I was lucky to get the SA6 MK2 for €430 and could not be happier as these are the upgrades for my Ikko OH10 Obsidians.

My all time fave is the Tea2. Also very much enjoying the IE200 tuning. I like my bass/warmth. I should prob not go with one of these faves of yours right? For reference I had the blessing 2 but sold it because it had too little bass for my liking

Lately, I have been loving everything made by Penon - especially the 10th Anniversary Edition, Turbo and the Serial. Also am really enamored with the BQEYZ Winter and the holographic presentation that the bone conductor adds to the mix. Cheers!

Agreed about SA6 MK2. Never heard Softears Studio 4. You might be disappointed by Blessing`s 3 technical performans for the price and also just avarage low`s quality (better look for a cheaper planar).

What are your thoughts on Blessing 3 vs Variations? Would I really be downgrading if I switched the latter for the former?

I'm looking to purchase a new set of in-ear monitors (IEMs) as a successor to my Mee Audio Pinnacle P1. I'm torn between the Sennheiser IE 600 and the Dunu SA6 MK2. If you had to choose between the two, which would you pick? Or would you choose another set? Thieaudio Monarch MKIII for example? My primary music genre is metal. Thank you in advance!

Penon IEMS are often overlooked and not mentioned! definitely worth a try! They have stuff that can compete within each of these price brackets and IEMs mentioned.

Senn IE600 can be found with dealers for less than $600.

I like Blessing 2 Og sound and looks more than Blesing 3. I have Dunu SA6 ultra in full blue version (rare). This is why I don't even think about bying MK2.

$400 for Maestro Mini! The bass on those set can compete with the $1.5k IER Z1R!

really great video, but for static shots like this, consider using manual focus. The focus breathing as the lens tried to lock onto your hands as they moved was quite distracting I found.

Hi Dave, I like the idea of such videos, I think it definitely helps viewers, especially if you explicitly mention your tonal preference beforehand (which you did), and if you could maybe quickly sum up in a comparative way why other sets didn't make this list, this could be the honourable mentions, if you will? But to the point and my question: I also have the Studio4, in fact, your review also played a part in making me sway towards it, and I also find it fantastic! However, I was wondering what's upward from this point? I'd skip the SA6 MkII as it seems too warm for me, but then there's the Monarch MkII, the FR graph of which is quite similar to the Studio4. Have you heard the Monarch MkII? If yes, would it be really a tonally similar, technically superior upgrade, as Timmy implicitly suggested it in his video of the Studio4?

You really need to wait for sales in this hobby. Most of these IEM's drop down $70+ when on sale. The IE600 (which I love and know you love) can be had for $600 and even under when on sale.

I owned both Studio 4 and Dunu SA6 MK II and I didn't I had to keep them both so I sold the SA6 MK II and keep the Studio 4. The thing is that I feel the SA6 MK II is not worth the price.
