I have received many questions lately about the shovel I use on my digging adventures, so I figured I would put together a video of my digging shovel. I use the Piranha! The blade is chrome-molly 4130 Aircraft quality steel that has been heat treated and tempered, This shovel will last you a lifetime. I have been digging with the Piranha since March of 2012 and I have not had any issues with it.

I was at the Garrett factory yesterday. They mentioned an upcoming trip to Texas you might be making. Hope to see you there. Hey man, nice channel. You've got cool gear and you find awesome relics. I've been collecting coins for several years now but just started digging last year. I found my first wheat cent (1939) at the park the other day. I watch your videos a lot and hope you keep making more.

Just got my new Piranha this week. Took it out for a test ride, boy is it great. I never thought anything could dig through out rocky soil like it can. Sure going to make my life easier.

I use a Jackson J-250 Trenching shovel. It has worked perfect for all my digging needs!

I have the Lesche ground shark, I like that model because it allows for a smaller hole. As far as I can tell they are all actually made by a company called w&w manufacturing ,and then sold off to predator tools and other such companies. Anyhow I just wanted to say I really enjoy your channel ,and I hope you keep em comin! Thanks for all your video adventures nugget. Lorne

I’ve had the hand trowel for years but I just got the Piranha shovel last week with the foot pads, it is one awesome shovel.. only now they don’t put the sharper edge on them, mine is kinda dull but I can fix that easily...

I love my Ranger which is also made by predator! It has a D handle and is a little shorter than yours, but still fantastic!

I go though shovels one every other year! the predators are the best the weld is better than the lesche here in New England there are so many rocks they wear out quick!!!

Did you mention the length you prefer? I was given a 31" Lesche for Christmas, but at 6'4", I don't like not being able to drag it and having to bend to do anything with it. I'm looking for a 36- or 38-inch.

You make the best videos. I was going to buy the camera you use but I ended up getting the Canon 710 model. I should have paid the extra $50.00 and got it anyway. But maybe next time.

I took your advice and picked one of these up. Have you ever bent your Piranha or will it bend? Have you ever bounced on it with all your weight and not have it bend? I was thinking of getting a grave digger, but this one looks solid.

nice looking tool....they're made for soil with a higher moisture content....they don't work out here in the desert..they just bounce off the ground,and dull after a few days of sharpshooting.....

so the piranha is way better than the Raven? i live in Australia so will have to order through predator tools with out seeing before buying! other foot stops worth the extra money? and what size shaft have you got on your piranha or is it just a set size shaft? cheers and a great video too

I agree completely noggin. I've had my piranha for 10 months and now my plugs are incognito. Lesche does quality metal work done down the road from me in New Jersey. But I'd like to ask where you got that finds bag you have a chem-lite on?

Looks like an old military ammo dump pouch. You can find them at military surplus stores, or eBay is always at your fingertips. Paintball guys use a similar version, but it's not as well made. Happy Hunting from Fountain Hills Arizona!

The Raven is great in fields and woods. Just harder to dig in rocky areas. Still a great choice! You won't go wrong with predator tools

This video is a couple of years old now. Since then, have you had the opportunity to try any of the Anaconda Treasure, Gold Digger shovels (NX-5 or NX-6) sold by KG and The Ringmaster, or possibly the Grave Digger brand shovels? Either way, is the Piranha still your go-to shovel?

Hi Nugget, I'm going to get a Piranha soon. I noticed you didn't get foot pads for your second shovel. Is that because you didn't find them worthwhile on your old one? I wasn't going to get them because I've never had a problem with any other shovel without them. Thanks, Doug

I go down to reclamation yard and make my own up using these desighns from old spades that's bin thrown I can buy them for a quid then I give them to my friends who start detecting with me I can make a copy of the lesh trowel fortunately I'm a welder but anyone can have a go with a small hobby welder ,it will save you a fortune and you can help ur buddies ,ant from Wales UK
