D2 Tool Steal: First appeared during WW II, semi-stainless tool steel. Very popular even today. Pretty much every steel manufacturer makes it and it's quite popular with knifemakers, custom and factory alike. Composition-wise it's almost a stainless steel. Resists rust pretty well, good edge holding and ok toughness. Bob Dozier is perhaps the most acknowledged expert of D2 steel knives.

Tacknives are made of 7CR17, 8cr17mov, 9cr18mov, D2 and 154CM. The fact that the one I wanted was made from D2 was the reason I went ahead and pulled the trigger on these, at the time, unknown knives. It was impressive to find this quality of steel in a clone for a reasonable price. The one you call your favorite has a D2 blade.

I am a repeat customer of TacKnives - and will continue to be. U.S. based company, and they are making great efforts to source all materials possible from the United States - will take some time. They eventually want to ensure every material is sourced from and assembly occurs in the United States - that is what they are working towards. You will not find better OTFs for the money, and they always run great sales. Customer service is very responsive and fantastic. The TacKnives I have are part of my EDC.

Just got my slenderman last Friday. It’s as good as it gets without some special blade locking mechanism. I love it.

Just ordered two of them and am looking forward to getting them in. You can actually also get US made products nowadays for a decent price for some, and bought a Kershaw 7 last month from their launch line.. it is more of a tactical pocket knife style side opening auto and is sweet, but they also have one from the line that is more of a dagger style stiletto and are both $99 a piece. Look them up, Kershaw launch line and you will be pleased with the build quality Especially for the money and have never seen US made autos for that price before

Which is cheap then tacknives...
@grneal269 ай бұрын
Its not even a replica. It is the same exact knife just rebranded. They buy them super cheap and then sometimes make the innards better and then charge over 100 dollars more.
