Been a Bel Canto fan for years. I was a dealer so long ago, it feels like it was a previous life - LOL. I remember when they (he) first did the digital amp and I still have a DAC-1. Happy to hear that Bel Canto is someone's end game.

Dave, you have always peaked my interest in the Bel Canto hardware. Finding a killer integrated is really hard and the EX is one that I would be interested in. I love your native american art. Do you have a specific place where you find your pieces? I am also in the northwest (north of Seattle). I love audio as a vehicle to music.

You said you had never had to change tubes going on eight years now. I have to change mine because one tube burnt out after 10years.Thinking about getting black bottle tubes. They are in my buffer and they are going on10+ years

@@DragnetSoundyup a lot of people have a pre conceived notion you must change tubes all the time .Simply not true especially when there very well built amps

i love guitars, amps and all things audio. as a retired former math teacher, can you suggest a system of integrated amp speakers, turntable, and CD player for about six or 7000 Canadian. Even that is a lot of money for me personally. Thanks. I enjoy your enthusiasm.

It a tough one as I have alway played in deeper end of the pool cost wise and thats many components your after.Do you have lots of vinyl and cd’s?

@@greatlookinglandscap yes I do about 1000 cd’s many guitar focussed and 500 albums. Robben Ford, The Hellecasters, Jeff Beck, John Hiatt, John Prine… all with great Session musicians. That is my passion. I own a couple of high end guitar amps; Matchless, and Custom Shop guitars. Verv fussy and passionate about sound tone, mix, etc. Was recently at 2 Different concerts at Massey Hall, and the sound mixes were horrific. unfortunately, most touring band travel with their own sound mixers. I complained and even the ushers at Massey Hall agreed. not going back there again. I wrote the management at Massey Hall a letter, and of course never heard from them. at intermissions, I spoke to the in house, sound engineers, and they said the sound was awful and there’s nothing they could do about it! Sorry for any grammar or typing errors. I use voice to text because I have arthritis in my hands. Thank you for your response.

Perhaps you can help out on something. Back in the 70s quality speakers usually had a Dampening Factor Spec. From what I gather today no one ever heard of this, instead they refer to this in the power amp side of things.
@greatlookinglandscap3 ай бұрын
not my expertise but have heard the term related to amplification
@ethimself50643 ай бұрын
@@greatlookinglandscap Thanks
@Jack969933 ай бұрын
From Kef's web page :The damping Factor (DF) is the amplifier’s ability to control speaker motion once a signal has stopped. Technically speaking, Damping Factor is the ratio of nominal loudspeaker impedance (the impedance the loudspeaker is rated at) to total output impedance of the system driving the loudspeaker, including the amplifier and cables.
