Yes, many modern 45s are crazy expensive, but 33s are following suite. In the late 80's, the average price of an LP was $7 or $8 and some of those OJCs you could get for $5. Put in perspective $10 back then is about $27 today. Bill Evan's Sunday At The Village Vanguard Craft OJC is now selling for $40 new. Add $8 for shipping and $3 tax and you're over $50. That's for just the 33. Then you have the UHQRs for $100+ per album. It's enough to blow the dust of my CD player and hide from analog until prices get a little more reasonable. Problem is I don't see it happening any time soon.

Must your woofers go more low? Do you need your image to be just so? Do you know a Jones, whose Fi is higher? Is competing or happiness, to what you really aspire? They say that happiness is in the chase But your money is a thing it seems to. waste. Is the love of music why you do things for? Or way deep down is it something more? They say that every person has their drothers But has it caused pain for your significant others? Then there's the cold reality of depreciation. But depriving yourself is no fun or consolation. They say the more we have; the less we appreciate. We could smell the roses and just sit back and wait What speakee, what amp, what brand? The sound you picture may exist only in Fantasy Land. True that it's quite a journey and quite a ride. But anything taken too far; there is always a downside. Which creates aalways another hill to climb. Advancing technology is on our side. Why not wait, for an even better ride? Time to think, and look inside.

@sidesup8286Күн бұрын
I don't associate happiness with audio. Once you turn off the power switch; it's over. The thrill only lasts while the music is on. Happiness is less transient than that. Sad that dreaming of better and better sound, is what keeps some people going, and gives them their will to live.Thlive.Those that live to get the realism of LIVE SOUND, are shortchanged; like following a false God. In all the billions of conversations about audio, has someone ever mentioned how close % wise is a good cd or lp to the master tape? Ivor Tiefenbrun, the head guy at Linn, years ago said that our best systems only achieve 1% or 2% of the sound quality of live music. And Linn made lp, recording many artists for their audiophile releases. His figure seems low to me, but if he's anywhere near right, audiophiles are spending all that money and making all this effort to achieve something that is nowhere near even 5% of LIVE. When Ivor spoke; people listened. Best thing is not to make any happiness based on sound quality. quality.Then your journey can continue without any problem. My personal audio journey might be over when I reach the point of doubting if there is any further improvement to be had. Compared to what they have been able to get down with their recording. Not compared to live music, as we may be less than 5% there on that.
