I’m intimated by bigger books as well and also prefer shorter books; like no more than 300 pages. I would love to be in wonderland having some tea as well lol 😂 love your choices

wayward children series is incredible!! i still havent read the most recent one yet BUT I NEED TO!! i totally get what you mean about plays! i studied drama till i was 18 and i loved reading the plays we had to study! HEARTSTOPPER IS MY FAVOURITE THING EVER!! i agree that I don't know anyone who doesn't love it!

I just finished Every Heart a Doorway and I LOVED IT so much!!! I’m so exited to start Down Among the Sticks and Bones!! (Especially because I think Jack is my favorite character!!) ❤️📚✨

Love The Ocean at the End of the Lane. It’s one of my favorite books ever. To me it was reminiscent of fairytale.

I got Summer of Salt with my huge Christmas haul. I was thinking of bringing it with me on the plane ride to California at the end of this year. I also have The Toy Makers, by Robert Dinsdale which I started a while ago and never continued. I'll have to start that one over because I remember nothing. Only 1 chapter so it's not that much to reread. I may end up buying a bunch of Neil Gaiman books in California. His name keeps popping up in so many videos I've been watching. I saw the Coraline movie and loved it despite being creepy in a way. I saw it in 3D and thought it was amazing.

i looooveeee the ocean at the end of the lane. i reread it last fall when i was going through something really upsetting and it helped comfort me. the scene where he stays inside the circle despite all the evil trying to tempt him out, that stuck with me. such a unique novel that is sad, nostalgic and just oddly inspiring.

YESSS I’m always ready for the Lexi recommendations!! Big books are so intimidating!! 💜💜 “Ariel knew” lol Ariel always knows!! When you wake your mom up to tell her about it,,,,, you know it’s good!! A dreams about time 👀 color me intrigued!! Listen I love myself a good play!! 💜💜 “my taste is weird” same Lexi same!! Ahhh heartstopper is super wholesome!! Ahh I still need to read summer of salt it sounds like the exact kind of thing I love💜💜 throwing me back with we were liars!! I haven’t read tuck everlasting BUT I have listened to the musical!!

I prefer short books, too. I feel a lot of people have less time to simply sit and read, nowadays. My short book recommendations are: Of Mice and Men, Steinbeck; Animal Farm, Orwell; Heart of Darkness, Conrad; Gatsby, Fitgerald; Fahrenheit 451, Bradbury; The Stranger, Albert Camus; Pnin, Nabokov; The Double, Dostoevsky.

I have been wanting to pick up the Wayward Children series. I tend to read super long books, so picking up shorter books has been appealing to me lately. I just finished the whole Binit Trilogy and it was super short and really a great sci-fi world. Somehow I didn't know that Chocolat was a book, I loved the movie and now I want to get the book.

Summer of Salt is currently being offered on Kindle Unlimited! I’m going to add that one to my TBR. Also, Tuck Everlasting has been one of my favorite books for so many years and I feel like it doesn’t get the attention it deserves, so thanks for mentioning it. 😊

I just got a fantastic Neil Gaiman boxset including Coraline, The Graveyard book and Fortunately the milk, it’s amazing. I love the Wayward Children series, I love Every Heart a Doorway so so much but they are all fantastic xx

I love short books. the ones you can easly read in a day. :) Big books scere me a bit :D the Ocean at the End of the Lane is on my TBR and I really want to read it. I hope I`ll enjoy it. I really enjoyed We Were Liars. I fave shor book is Daddy Long Legs by Jean Webster. It`s a classic and such a lovely book. Thank you for the recommendatins

A new favorite short book of mine is The Very Very Far North by Dan Bar-el. It is an adorable middle grade with life lessons and it gave me Winnie the Pooh vibes. Another one of my favorite short books is Fantastic Mr. Fox

I absolutely agree. For some reason I think Summer of Salt would be a good one to pick up if you liked Chocolat- but if you loved Chocolat for the amazing food descriptions, sadly it is one of a kind❤️
