Thanks. You can go crazy with all multi-press combinations. I just did the double-click on the garage button so nobody invokes it by accident.

Love these. It used to be only Insteon had these kind of multi button devices until the zooz came out. I sold my Insteon stuff the instant I realize I would never rely on cloud again. I had implemented the nsp panel to replace the Insteon buttons but at the end of the day the zooz is truly a direct replacement (minus the dimming).

I had an Insteon keypad dimmer in this spot previously. I found I never dimmed my lights anyway, and some LED bulbs were flaky with Insteon dimmers even if I only used full brightness. Bottom line, I don’t miss it.

I was thinking of the dimming too, which I have in my hallway and it wouldn't work with these buttons. Otherwise great little smart.

I love this wall switch have had mine for almost a year now, replaced the old dumb switch with this one next to my front door. Have it controlling my lights outside (main button) my front door smart lock, my outdoor siren, and a light in the living room and one in the kitchen. I use 2 HA blueprints which makes it super easy to set up both the button automations and light states they are made by a person called halomademeapc look for zen32 and find his blueprints.

Wow... first, that's impressive. Second, mind boggeling how you even found this thing/switch. One would assume the default to be on 'on when on', perhaps they'll change it later, who knows what the engineer/programmer was thinking of a scenario when they programmed it that way. I am impressed, certainly with the topics and gadgets you come up with. I am not an engineer, but a programmer, have setup servers, etc. but yesterday was trying to set up a smart plug (Kasa) for my deck lights and I couldn't believe I got stuck on a supposed simple step. That is, in order to have the plug get your wifi, you needed an extra step in between, which drove me NUTS! On my Settings/wifi, I had to pick that plug... and then it would let me connect to it. One would think, this step would lead you automatically (popup) to sign the gadget into your wifi, but no. Perhaps, I have a problem with instructions/manuals dunno. Hands down, applauds to you. Thank you for your smart videos!

I am also a programmer! Or at least I was in my early career. Now in an IT PMO. Not as much fun. Are you a Home Assistant user? I love programming home automations. It’s addictive for people like us.

@@handydadtv I stay away from too much automation in the house, just due to the fact that I don't want to drive people crazy. It is fun though. Let's say, when you walk into the kitchen and your ambiance lights go on, or your shopping list with Alexa you can access from anywhere, or your irrigation system in the backyard is automated, etc. Now with the ring cameras, etc. It can get addictive to no end. I only take a step towards convenience if I think there is a better solution than just pulling the plug or pushing a button😁. It's almost sickening ... 😄

I have a couple of Zooz switches and I am happy with them. Their contact sensors are garbage I have not been able to figure out why. I am not sure if it is a z-wave issue or a sensor issue. Thinking about trying out some Zigbee devices.
@handydadtv

I have Zigbee smart plugs right now because they’re much cheaper than Z-Wave, but no switches at the moment.

Question, in your Indicator light automation what is the difference between "On when the load is on" and "Always on"? Not sure why you would use one vs the other? If you just used "On when the Load is on" (would it turn off when the light went off)? Could you get away with only 1 automation and not need the turn off when load is off automation?
@handydadtv
@handydadtv Жыл бұрын
That would work with the big button because it controls a load, but I have no idea what it means for the scene buttons.

While I was checking for support of this scene controller for my Homeseer setup I ran across some concerning information regarding cracking buttons. Maybe these issues have been resolved but apparently there may be a quality issue or possible design flaw. Probably worth some investigation.

To stop flashing when changing led state: Change Parameter 23: Choose if you want the LED indicators to flash whenever a parameter (setting) is adjusted on the device to confirm the change. Disable this feature if you're using the LED indicators in automations. Values: 0 - LED indicators flash to confirm a setting change (default) ; 1 - LED indicators don't flash if a setting is changed. Size: 1 byte dec

I found a Blueprint that links devices so the button light always reflects the status of the controlled device.
