Thanks for the solo game review! There are times when I have that itch to play a board game and other players are not available. Thanks to the cat for joining the video! Under Falling Skies, which I’ve just started playing, thus far seems like a great solo player board game, designed specifically with one player in mind. I’m surprised it was not included in this video.

Hey there, James! Thanks for checking out the video! It is nice to have a few go-to solo games for when you've got the time but aren't able to (or don't necessarily feel like) getting together with friends! I've heard really good things about Under Falling Skies but don't know too much about it! It always reminds me of Space Invaders! 👾 p.s. I'll be sure to let Stella know that you appreciated her appearance!

I had no idea there was a solo variant for 7 Wonders Duel. I’ll be checking out your video on that one for sure. Lately I’ve played Lost Ruins of Arnak, Marvel United, and Dinosaur Island Rawr n Write solo. But my favorite game I’ve been soloing recently is easily Warp’s Edge, which is a designed 1 player game. Warps Edge is a bag builder where you are trying to defeat hordes of enemy spaceships and an enemy mothership. There is a ton of variability in your ship and powers and the enemies, leading to a lot of replayability. Recently the game has been selling on Amazon in the US for under $15, which is a steal if you can catch it for that price. Highly recommended.

The solo variant is absolutely brilliant! So simple to manage and yet really challenging and fun! ⚔️ I've enjoyed my plays of Lost Ruins but haven't played it solo since I don't own the game! Haven't played any of the other games you mentioned, although Warp's Edge does sound promising! I'm looking at some pictures on BGG and I'm really impressed it's selling for under $15! Thanks for the recommendation! 🚀

@@BoardGameDave So far I've only played Viticulture and Three Sisters Solo. I recently bought Tiny Towns (I enjoyed your Solo Play Sunday) and I'm looking forward to trying it out solo!

@@BoardGameDave I did and I really enjoyed it! I thought it was easy to learn, but I definitely have room to improve. 😂 You should try Three Sisters if you get the chance. I can't speak to multiplayer, but I enjoyed playing it solo.

Great video! This summer, I played a lot of Meadow and Santa Monica. Meadow is still my most played solo game at 45+ plays. I never tire of it! I tried Concordia a few times, but my strategy is lacking! After 5 losses in a row, I decided to come back to it at a later date - maybe soon! For medium weight games, I like Raiders of Scythia when I have more time. Red Cathedral is great, too! I think you’d like it - it’s a giant rondel with dice, but so many ways to mitigate or use the dice to get the resources you need. It’s a lot of game in a small box. Currently, I’m enjoying Akropolis, a light but puzzly tile laying game. Thanks for sharing your faves!

Hey there, Zoe! I appreciate your comment! I actually just played Meadow for the first time this past week and really enjoyed it! My friend who taught me the game gave me a quick overview of how the solo game plays and it seems like fun! I've seen a lot about Santa Monica online but don't know too much about the gameplay! It's very pretty, though! And Contrarius is a hard solo opponent; no shame in five losses in a row-you'll get it! I've never played Raiders of Scythia but I have Raiders of the North Sea with both expansions and have enjoyed playing that solo! I've heard SO many good things about Red Cathedral and it's at the top of my want-to-buy list, actually! Seems absolutely up my alley! And Akropolis looks like fun, too! Thanks for mentioning so many fantastic games! 😊

Not a huge solo player, being lucky enough to have met many people to play with in the last months. I usually play solo only with games that are meant to be played solo (like "Orchard" 🌳) or cooperatively (like "Fuse" 💣). Something quick and simple, anyway. I'm also looking forward "No pasaran" (also known with its international title "Resist!"), which is a game set during Maquis' struggles against dictator Franco. Not my usual "cup of tea" - I'm not a war games lover at all - but there's something that caught my curiosity. But since I watched some of your "Solo Play Sundays", I said: "Why not giving a try?" 😉 Then, I recently played PARKS 🧗‍♀ and Luna 🌙 (by Stefan Feld) by myself. I still prefer playing with other people, but I have to say that it's been better than I thought! And I didn't know 7 Wonders Duel had a solo version! Definitely gonna have a look 😌

Hey there, Marco! Thank you so much for your comment! I'm glad you have so many people to play board games with; I also feel extremely lucky to have so many friends groups beyond Hannah and my family with whom I can play a wide variety of games! Unlike you, though, I don't think I've ever played a solo-only game... at least not a physical one! I did just check out an Italian review video of "No pasaran", though-that looks like something I could enjoy, too! That's awesome that you gave some non-solo-only games a try by yourself! I almost always prefer playing board games with other people too, but sometimes it's nice to just work on a puzzly solo game by yourself-it's almost a form of self-care for me in a way! Absolutely check out the solo print-n-play for 7 Wonders Duel when you get a chance! It's fantastic! ⚔ p.s. I appreciate all the emojis! ☺
