VERY well done review. Been researching this tripod and this is the best video on it I've seen.

If it came with black on black I’d get one but the red is flashy which is what I want to avoid while traveling. The peak can also be kept in your bag. I wouldn’t buy the peak but I get it.

Great review of the iFootage tripod. I've been considering this one for a while. I think its time to get one. If you have not done so already, can you do a review of the iFootage fluid head that you showed in this vid?
@livedeliciously2 жыл бұрын
The PD tripod is king when it comes down to compactness for traveling. I think the TC5 does look better for functionality when actually using it.

Trust me, I’ll let you use it next time and you’ll end up copping one right after haha

Thanks so much for the review! Really helped me decide to get this tripod! One question though, the TC6 and TC7 are 25" when folded. At this length, have you had any issues fitting this tripod in the carry-on compartment of most coach economy flights?

@OT4Tech5 жыл бұрын
Well, that’s with a tripod head. When you consider putting your own fluid on the Peak Design tripod your looking at a similar size. The difference in folded length is 5 inches.

Heavier (670g = 1.477lb), less compact when packed (131cm), shorter max height, lesser payload, no ball head included but have spike feets and for USD339 (NO BALL HEAD). To each, their own I guess.
@OT4Tech5 жыл бұрын
You can get a ball head or even a fluid head for $100 or less, that still makes this tripod cheaper. Short max height? I’m not sure I follow you since they are the same. Well, actually if you want to be technical since the ball head seems to be something you’re sold on, once you attach a head to the iFootage you gain a few more inches making it taller. Plus, you do get a 75mm leveling ball head built on the tripod as well as a longer telescoping center column. 🤷♂️ to each their own, I’m just saying this is a fantastic alternative that is available right now and much cheaper.

If you're serious about photography and videoography, you should do what's most economical in terms of equipment. Something like a tripod should just serve its purpose and have a durable build. You shouldn't spend more on a brand. But for things like cameras, mics, etc... Those are the things you really should do the research.
@OT4Tech5 жыл бұрын
Agreed. For the most part this is 💯 percent accurate however when it comes to the professional gear world things are different than the prosumer world. I used to have this mindset until I tried the Sachtler Flowtech. It’s crazy expensive but because of its design it saves my back beyond anything else I have ever used. There are certain rare instances that I think you are getting what you pay for and not just buying because into a name.

@@OT4Tech I see. Thanks for the response. I mean I'm not like a professional in that industry so I wouldn't known myself. I'm just talking in general terms from the perspective of a consumer and or for someone that might be starting out in this industry. Thanks for the response. Most KZfaqrs don't reply back to my comments; especially the tech channels I subscribe to. So it's refreshing and much appreciated that you spent a few moments to reply back.

Not knocking the TC5 but your comparison to Peak Design's tripod is mute. Peak design's is a completely different and innovative style of tripod. It's never been done before.
@OT4Tech4 жыл бұрын
I understand your point but I wanted to share a more affordable option to people looking for a portable tripod. I get that innovation is going to cost more but at the end of the day no matter the innovation it's still a tripod with the same purpose as other tripods.
@rogalaphotography4 жыл бұрын
Jonathan Casey Not when the Peak Design can fit on a water bottle pocket or even your luggage and the iFootage hangs off the back of your backpack bumping into everything. The aluminum peak design is only $350 which is working normal tripod prices...at least for quality pro trippds
