During our apprenticeship as a nurse, we had to place feeding tubes, we call it nasogastric tube, on each other. It was really disgusting. Just 3 of us (we are 27) accepted the NG for nearly 15 to 30 minutes, but the rest of them startet to retch immediatly and some were vomiting. But I think it was a great experience that showed us, what wie do to our klients in hospital.

Once I became a paraplegic, I had to learn that it could have been worse. We are truly blessed. I am happy you share your experiences. Keep those videos coming it helps those that are not exposed regularly to "sick" or "disabled" people and helps people accept and embrace us.

Stumbled on this while watching Frey Life, and I'm impressed that you were able to make this video even though you no longer use an NG tube for feeds. I've only had a tube placed once, because they needed to check for GI bleeding, and it was terrifying and I threw up a lot. It was a large tube because they were just using it to pump my stomach, but they did mention they may have to leave it in place. The nurse was learning and it was really hard for me. Thank you for sharing this for those who need it. Watching this made me less afraid of having it done in the future if it ever needs to be done again.

Wow, I can’t believe how well you did. Earlier this year I was hospitalized due to a blockage from my Crohns and the ER nurses tried to place one to remove food from my stomach and I gagged so bad and pulled it out and then barfed everything out. Thank Goodness when I did puke the blockage seemed to fix itself. Doctors really weren’t sure what happened since my CT scans showed a blockage but I am considering the ostomy since my flares are continuous. I am 42yo and was diagnosed at 13yo and have been on everything. Nothing helps so I have been living as a shut in for the last 15 years. I don’t work or drive anymore and life kinda sucks. You are so brave to be so open and honest. 💜💜💜

Maggie, thanks for the demo, luckily I only ever had a NG tube inserted once for about a week post op. I recall it was one of the most uncomfortable procedures I had, give me a chest drain any day. I can only imagine what it was like for you to have to do that every night. I came across your KZfaq channel when I was preparing to have ileostomy surgery, I have found it most informative, I find your vlog inspiring, it has certainly helped my through my journey with Crohn's. P.S. Kudos to Zak, I can clearly see he was a little uncomfortable inserting the tube. Congratulations on your engagement.

This was fascinating to watch. You are so brave. I had a nasogastric tube placed when I was 18 years old due to a constricted esophagus. I was given Ensure through it 3 times a day for 3 months. I was pregnant when it was placed and after I gave birth it was removed as I could now have my esophagus stretched surgically. I don’t think I could have ever gotten used to removing it and replacing it as you said you did. Thank you for your these educational videos.

@@ZacharyJohn your ilk is actively against all kinds of medical coverage, if this woman wasn’t well-known on youtube and was struggling to pay for her needed supplies and healthcare you people would laugh in her face and tell her to suck it up. Btw congrats on losing. I know it doesn’t matter to you, you think it’s a librul conspiracy and you will never accept being losers but I just wanted to remind you.
