Hey Todd. Given your goal is to grow the channel and support your family, I really reckon you should reflect more on what makes big channels big, and why. You can maintain your personality and style without following the silliness of other channels (e.g. burnouts, sick turbos etc). "'Good artists copy, great artists steal" as the quote goes; pick and choose elements that make videos and channels popular, and filter them through your personal style and way of thinking. Tyler Thompson is a good example of a channel that went from super basic VLOGs, to a polished 4WD adventure channel. He has a bit of that vibe you don't want to emulate, but I don't think that vibe is what has made him popular. His videos became more polished, and he "fed the algorithm" just enough with well-designed thumbnails and trendy content (build videos, rig rundowns), so that he could move more into adventure videos like his recent Simpson Desert one. Some trendy content may be just what gives you the bump you need to do even more of the things you love! Overall, you're fun to watch and seem like a great guy! Thanks for the content.

Luke, I wanted to leave it a day or two to fully digest your full comment before I responded. What you have said is definitely true. My aim for the channel is to build it up to something I can use to make a living with, while also still enjoying the content creation and connections I make with amazing individuals pursuing this goal. I am looking at different styles of content to branch out into, such as the Vlogs, vehicle builds and rundowns you mentioned. Tyler Thompson is a huge success story as well, I watched his videos years ago back when he first got into his Navara and liked his genuine sincerity and honesty in front of the camera. His channel has gone from strength to strength as he has also sought out growth akin to other big channels. I would also like to follow this lead, but personally some of his newer videos, combined with the flashy clickbait pot-stirring instagram posts and stories that remind me a lot of Sam Young, don't mirror how I would envision myself in the future. There are many lessons I can learn from Tyler Thompson and similar channels to grow my own channel, but I wouldn't consider him a role model. Some channels that I do want to emulate for various reasons include Mighty Car Mods, Practical Engineering, Fire to Fork, XploringOz, Gavin Gillett, Intents Offroad, CGP Grey and Australian Images. All these channels provide long term entertaining, educational and intelligent content that I have been watching for years. The passion and creative genius in their videos shines through masterfully, without the need for attention grabbing gimmicks or simply copying other people's ideas. Going forward I wouldn't mind giving some of the 'trendy' ideas a go a one offs just to see what effect they may have on the channel. I always seek opportunity to grow and develop myself and the channel, and I would be a fool to dismiss the idea. But I am wary of simply becoming just another dopamine content creator always chasing the next high of a trending video. Luke, your comment has been an absolute pleasure to have on my video. Honest, constructive and informative feedback is always welcome on my channel, and I do hope you stick around to see how I improve in response to your ideas. I'm glad you enjoy my videos mate, cheers!
